Meredith's POV
"What are you afraid of?" Gabby's voice sliced through the air, carrying with it a sense of exasperation. Her eyes, adorned with subtle frustration, rolled in response to my hesitance. The room, dimly lit and draped in the heavy silence of unspoken fears, seemed to amplify her incredulity.
"He is perfect in every sense," she continued, a hint of disbelief lingering in her words. "You have a father who adores you and lays the world at your feet, a boyfriend who may not be perfect but loves you and will go to any length just to make you happy." Each syllable fell with weight as if trying to dismantle the barricade around my heart.
