Matthew's POV
My heart raced as I sprinted through the sterile white corridors of the hospital, my footsteps echoing in the empty halls. The harsh fluorescent lights overhead flickered, casting an eerie glow on my determined face. My mind buzzed with a mix of anxiety and anticipation, each step fueled by the desperate need to see Meredith.
I had to sneak around to get to the floor where she was as I approached the room where she was supposed to be, a knot tightened in my stomach. The air felt heavy with tension, and the silence that enveloped the hospital intensified the sound of my pounding heartbeat.
I pushed open the door, revealing a scene that left me breathless. As expected, Mr. Ace had his men standing outside the door, not one, not two or three but 10 of them if only I counted correctly.
