At that moment, my heart swelled with excitement, knowing what was about to unfold. They both looked at each other, and Dad spoke up. "We love each other and would like to give our marriage a second chance. This time around, we will do all the right things." The joy and happiness on their faces were palpable, and I knew they were embarking on a journey filled with love and commitment.
All in my head, I turned to look at Lizzy who was least curious about what dad was about to say. Our mother walked up to him and held his hand they both turned to look at us.
My father's words hit me like a ton of bricks as he calmly announced, "Your mother and I have decided to end our marriage," accompanied by a smile that made my stomach churn.
