Meredith's POV
I couldn't help but wonder why my dad would leave me here. However, I figured that I needed a shower, anyway. As I walked through the door by the fireplace, I switched on the lights, and the sight before me was breathtaking.
It was a spectacular bathroom with a grand bathtub at the centre, situated right next to a dressing table in the corner. The sink, with its tall mirror, was adjacent to a large glass panel, providing a clear view of the area.
The bathroom was spacious and impressive. Suddenly, thoughts of Matthew flooded my mind. He must be worried sick. I hadn't spoken to him in a week, and now my dad had sent me to this remote location.
A wave of anger mixed with fear washed over me. I was afraid that my dad would succeed in separating us. I walked up to the mirror and gazed at myself, my baby bump now visible. I took in a deep breath, staring at my belly with a mixture of emotions.
