Meredith's POV
I found myself rooted in one spot, a jumble of emotions coursing through me. I couldn't quite put a name to what I was feeling. "Honey," his voice called out again, and my heart raced with the possibility of running into his arms and telling him how much I missed him. But it was easier said than done. I forced myself to focus on our complicated present situation instead.
"Your doctor is here, we need to go," my dad said walking up to me and holding my hand while I grasped it. It was indeed true I needed something to hold on to. I took in a deep breath and turned to look at him, he left his hair bushy with a little beard on his face, I could tell the trip did him well.
I got the chance to have a closer view of his face after six months. He looked charming, more handsome, and probably different or not my eyes might have been deceiving me but he looked different from the last time I saw him not just in his looks but in his voice.
