Matthew's POV
I was taken aback by what I had just heard. It seemed like my mother was willing to do whatever it takes. As I was preparing to leave, I accidentally bumped into a nurse. She had a gentle smile on her face as she asked, "Excuse me, sir. Are you planning to go visit the patient?"
"Yes, but I think a doctor is with her. I will just come back later." I said in a hurry to leave there. "It's fine, you can go in. Her family was here to take her but her doctor insisted she spend the night just to make sure her baby is fine," the nurse grins.
"I see," I said with a smile and walked away from there. I was happy I found out the truth but sad how my mother can hurt me this much in the name of protecting me.
I drove back to Lizzy's house to check on them, I stopped on the way to get my baby niece some presents.
