A notification popped up on her phone and another on both Angie and Val's phone, and Karen knew that hell would break loose, and indeed it did.
"What are you going to say about this?" Angie asked Karen as she moved her phone closer to Karen's face.
"What the …!" Karen said, but she was interrupted by Angie screaming that she didn't want to listen.
"Enough of this!" Val shouted, and Angie was so shocked at Val's reaction that she suddenly kept quiet. "Karen is like a sister to you. Why do you think she would betray you that much? I know she hadn't been at a good place, but why would she choose to strike at you? It doesn't make sense."
"I wouldn't do such a thing," Karen said once again.
She had said it more than she could remember, but she was willing to say it a million times if that is what it took for Angie to believe her and for their relationship to be saved. She would gladly do it.
"I don't care. Get out!" Angie said.
