"Karen, I can't stress this enough but it's important for us to find your brother. Something important really came up," Jim said in a harsh and authoritative voice and Karen swallowed saliva hard.
"I know someone who knows where he might be," Karen admitted in a low voice that Jim almost missed hearing.
"Where is he?" Jim asked as he paced up and down the room, annoyed at Karen for hiding such information from him. His face was pinched and dark and his mouth was twisted in a sneer. He opened the mouth to speak but stopped midsentence, opened it again but was stopped by the loud blaring sirens. He raised his toes and moved as fast as lightning towards the window and saw that a police car was driving into his compound.
