Asher lowered himself down and pushed her messy hair away from her face and got air and strength taken from him.
"Calliope…" he murmured as his eyes popped out.
He moved closer and cupped her face, like he wanted to be sure she was tangible and she wasn't going to disappear into a poof of smoke like she had done severally in his dream.
He didn't even know his hands were shaking until he tried to lift her head so he could look at her clearly without the messy hair in the way.

He murmured again like it was a magic word that would automatically make her open her eyes and jump into his arms, where he would hold on to her forever.
