"Please, I am willing to pay you 5 grand for that information. It's more than you will make in a day!"
It got the woman's attention for sure. Whoever said money doesn't run the world has never met an angry teenager with a bag full of it?
The woman stared at her briefly like she was looking at an alien. Starr opened her bag and pulled out the cash and dropped it on the table.
She held the woman's gaze for a while until she tried to take the money.
"Lady, I might be fifteen years old but I am not stupid. Information for money" she said through her gritted teeth.
The woman looked around like she was making sure that no one was watching and she leaned in.
"You are not a serial killer or something, right?" She asked Starr.
"I am not" Starr relaxed.
She showed her the screen of her phone where a picture of Asher, Pepper and her as a little girl was.
"I am just trying to find my Mom…that's it"
