Chapter 133: People we are grateful for
Martha knight watched her servants set the table and she barely got herself to stand still and let them do what they do best. It was also a tug of war to keep herself from tapping her fingers on her thigh which she always did whenever she was nervous.
She pushed rogue strands of hair away from her face and neatly folded her arms into each other, anything to elicit comfort.
She was watching her Butler set the glasses for wine when she heard a commotion in the living room like someone was breaking something.
Martha exhaled and went in search of the source. She found Maya on top of a high stool with her hands trying to reach the chandelier.
Martha had so many questions for her baby sister but only one seemed urgent.
"Maya, honey…what are you doing?"
Maya looked down but only briefly before she returned her gaze to the task in front of her.
