"Ugh…" Chiyu moan as he leans against the sink. he can feel Shimei rub his back and wipe away the sweat in his forehead.
His surrounding does not look it expanding and moving, unlike earlier. He still feels the tell-tale signs of vomit but, he can manage. He's feeling better than earlier where he was a few steps from passing out.
Tsukishima gave him the cold bottle of water, and Chiyu with his cotton-filled brain just stared at it. "Here's your water and medicine."
He took it from the older men's hand and tried opening it. "Ahh, yes. Thank you." He has no strength, so he gave it to his older brother who took it without a second thought.
He has no idea how thirsted he was not until he drank water. Chiyu feels blessed, feeling his dry throat being wet again.
"Are you good enough to walk?" I can carry you if you can't. that last part was not said but they can still hear it.
Chiyu strongly shook his head. "N-no! I'm okay now. No... no need." He will never ask to be carried! Even if he's crawling or something, he doesn't want to be carried! He will be the who will carry other.
The other two shrugged and waited for the other so they can leave the comfort room.
They walked slowly and talk, while Chiyu looks around and there are many people either coming from outside or leaving the country. Their group rode a car that came to fetch them and went to the residence they're staying.
It's not a big house but, it's fit for 5 people and 2 pets. Both him and his brother have separate rooms, opposites to the other. There are three more vacant rooms on the 2nd floor, a small living room and 2 bathrooms. The three guardians will be staying in the rooms on 1st floor. The room by the end of the hall will be changed into a meditation and storage room.
Chiyu rested for a while before he unpacked his things, putting his clothes and shoes in the closet, and remove his books in the extra case to put by the corner. There's only bed, foam, walk-in closet, study table, and a chair. There are no shelves to put his books. Many things are missing in the room that would show his interest best.
After dusting off the bed pillows, he left the room and went to explore the whole place.
All rooms are color white, with wooden floor. He like the big windows the most. The kitchen was not separated to the living room and the dining area, there's a small island where they can sit to watch the person cooking. Yona was already preparing dinner, while Margarette and Tsukishima were cleaning the place. At the back of the house instead of a small pond, like the one in their place, it was an average sized pool. He's tempted to take a dive but, its already late and it's freezing.
They are in a subdivision, so, there's not many vehicles running around. Unlike other houses, they are surrounded by trees and big backyard. What surprised Chiyu was the tall fence. Well, they do have fences back in their home but not as tall that.
After exploring, he went to Shimei's room. The other seems to haven't finished unpacking his things.
After knocking, he called. "Nii-san."
"You can enter. It's not locked," after hearing that, Chiyu entered the room, and just like his, it lacks the atmosphere and the interest of the person. Surprisingly, he's not finished unpacking yet. It looks neater than Chiyu's. He finished putting curtains and a small carpet, he skipped it for later to explore. "Just wait for a moment. We can ask Yona and Margarette to go with us in the mall to buy other necessities tomorrow."
He went to the bed and sat. "Hmm, By the way, nii-san, I noticed there's no spirits or ghost here. Is this a newly build house?" Though, even if it's a new house, there should be at least 2 or 3 since, well… Maybe someone was killed in this place or buried or something, or a wandering ghost. This was devoid of unliving beings, which surprising. Lol.
┐(シ)┌
"Hmm, I heard, this was a haunted house before our family exorcised the poltergeists and the demon here. The harmless yokais and ghosts might come here later," Shimei explained.
"Wow, it doesn't look haunted at all. They did a great job remodeling this place."
"Yeah. I'm planning coloring my room, sky blue next week. How about you?" he asked as he left the closet and start stacking the boxes he haven't opened yet.
"Hmm, I'm planning red or purple or something, haven't thought of a color yet."
"Won't that make your room look darker? It's not good for your eyes," he said, looking at Chiyu, worriedly.
Chiyu waved his hands and answered. "Nah, if I choose either, I'll make them pastel color. Don't you think it suits me well?"
Shimei thought for a while as he went to sit next to Chiyu. "I think so, too," and chuckled.
They stayed in a comfortable silence as they listen to the crickets from the open window. It's very peaceful and he will not trade this for anything.
"I'm going to the bath. I think, we'll have dinner soon. You should take yours, too"
"Yes, I'll do that after I finish this."
It was uneventful night. After taking a bath and eating dinner, Chiyu read the books that their guardians brought. English, mathematics, science, Filipino and Araling Panlipunan. The last two subjects, he didn't know how to read those so, he studied the first three subjects mentioned, until 10 pm before he goes to sleep.
The next morning, they woke up by 5 am. At the same time, Chiyu and Shimei opened their doors. "Good morning."
"Did you have a good sleep?" Shimei asked, took the toothbrush, and gave the other to Chiyu.
A small thanks was heard. "… Kind of? It took me at least 30 minutes to shut down my brain. It's just strange that there's no shivers or creaking floor sound or a cold hand holding my leg! It's so weird!" He's freaked out since the usual things that happen every night didn't happen.
Shimei chuckled and said, "Ha ha ha, It's quite weird, indeed. If not for Shinichi and Kaito, I would have also taken some time to sleep," before he started brushing his teeth.
"Kaito and Shinichi's in you room?! So unfair. You're hogging them for yourself, nii-san." It was slightly incoherent, glaring at his brother who was still chuckling.
(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞
"It's not my fault they like me more," he teases the other. At the same time, Shinichi entered the bathroom, and start meowing and rubbing himself in Chiyu's legs.
"No, you traitor! Go to your favorite person. Hmph! I don't like you anymore!" he exclaimed, taking away his leg from the cat.
( =ω=)… Nyaaa!
Though, Shinichi didn't mind and continue rubbing his face on Chiyu's other leg. "Nooo. Leave me alone!"
Nyaaaa Nyaaaaa!
The cat continued rubbing himself. Chiyu finished brushing his teeth and washing his face before he takes Shinichi in his arms. The rub each other cheeks. "You'll sleep with me if you want me to forgive you!"
Nyaaa.
Shimei just roll his eyes and leave Chiyu and Shinichi in their reconciliation. They meditated for 15 minutes, then Chiyu sat in the corner, organizing his things, while Shimei prays. Though, they don't a particular religion, they believe in the supreme being who created the heaven and earth.
Chiyu sat there and waited as the other finishes.
As he was left alone in his thoughts, he questioned …
"Why of all countries that the elder choose, why Pangaea?"
Other countries such as Cniha, Kroea, Aricmea, Irasel, or other countries, have more history and larger paranormal clans just like theirs. There are also many supernatural creatures and history with different religions and religious places. He can list why it would better for them to be in those countries, but it's not like he can tell the elders that. They'll not listen to him… So, why? Why the Pangaea?
He still doesn't understand. It's true that this country is more welcoming to foreigners than the other mentioned Asian countries, and they have larger believers of Christianity than Irasel. But, he thinks, it's not just that. The elders should've told them. They're the ones living here, not them!
Sigh…
Well… he forgot to tell his brother to ask them, and his brother also forgot to ask.
"Chiyu, let's go," he heard Shimei called.
"Ah, yes, Shimei-nii-san."
When they arrived at the kitchen, Yona and Tsukishima finished making breakfast. They thanked God for the food, then started eating. Chiyu tilted his head, confused with what's infront of him. Instead of the traditional Janpese breakfast, and chopsticks. He's with fried rice (?), sunny side up, and dried fish, which Margarette called 'bislad'.
"Uh… how… do you eat this?" Chiyu asked staring at the dried fish. He can't see the bones and it's stiff, it might hurt their teeth. "Is this truly edible?" he asks to himself.
It's thin, dry and kinda hard. He can still see the fish's bones
He hears them chuckle. He and his brother watch them as they show them. One part of the fish doesn't have bones so it's easy to eat.
"This is salty," Shimei said after taking a bite from the fish.
"Ahh, we have a remedy for that," Margarette said smirking. She took her cup of black coffee and pour it in her plate. The twins stared at her and her plate with wide eyes. "Why?! Why did you do that?"
"You're ruining your plate!" Chiyu exclaimed. It was his… No, their first-time seeing people putting coffee in rice! Does it not taste weird?
"Well, the coffee is kind of sweet, and it works great especially to cold rice and fried fish. Would you like to try?" extending her hand with the cup. Both twins shook their heads.
Huh?! Coffee is bitter, how can it be sweet? Maybe if you put so many sugars but, it's still bitter! He still can't wrap his head around it. But he wants to try it. Maybe it will taste… okay?
He followed what Margarette did and the taste is decent. The saltiness suits the bitter and sweetness of the coffee. Ahh, Pangaeanos have quite unusual tastes. Culture shock.
He looks at his brother with excited and wide eyes. A look that Shimei know that his brother also wants him to try but, he just shook his head.
"No, thank you. Um, can I have a ketchup instead?" Shimei returned the bislad and took a sunny side up.
They're silent and waited for everyone to start talking again. "Can you go with us at the mall? There are things we need to buy," Chiyu asked.
Margarette looked surprised but she smiled. "I'm about to tell you we're going to the mall later. We're going to clean and check what we lack here. Let's leave by 10:30, is that okay?"
"Eh, does malls here also open at 10:00?" Yona asked, eating the bislad after putting it in a vinegar with garlic. Chiyu can't help but try them too.
"Yeah. While we're at it. We'll eat lunch there."
"Oh, okay."
"Thanks. It's delicious."
"Thank you."
They went to their rooms to finish final touches and organize the shared room by the end of the hall and the vacant rooms. After sweeping and dusting off the 2nd floor, Chiyu went to the balcony to look outside. All he can see are houses, vacant lots and of course, ghosts and new supernatural creatures. Things that he can't imagine existing, but there's also some similar ones.
Ahh, it might be slightly terrifying because this a new place, but he's quite excited learning the difference of the Shadows and the creatures here than Napaj. He can't wait.
(A/N: I'm sorry, I don't know what their curriculum so, I will not mention it, but if you have any idea, please dm me to include it here and be more accurate. Thanks!)
He took a shower before he lay in his bed, wore a yukata, and read a book. He hasn't finished reading the 'Nine Schools competition arc, book 2' of 'Magic High's Irregular. It's an interesting and entertaining, especially the confrontations and arguments. He can feel the tension.
Oh la la.
"Ahh, come here," he called as Shinichi jumped on his bed and nuzzle in his face. "That's right, give me more kisses." Chiyu giggled as the cat lick his face with his scratchy tongue while purring. It feels weird but, he's used to it.
He continues reading as the cat napped in his arms. When his pressed arm gets numbed, he rolls into the other side and Shinichi follows him.
"So cute~," and kissed the cat's head. His ear made a move and he giggled again.
"You can watch him more later. We need to go." His brother said by the door, startling both him and Shinichi. Shimei was leaning by the door and smiling fondly at them. Kaito was beside him, looking up. He was also wearing a yukata
He didn't notice him opening the door. Chiyu look at his watch to check, his brother might be trolling him, well, it's a good thing that it's truly 10:20.
"I'm hurt, my dear nii-san."
Chiyu just rolled his eyes, as he dusts off Shinichi's fur, and put on cologne.
"See yah later, Shinichi, Kaito."
"We'll bring you foods. You must behave, okay?"
Nyaaa!
Arf! Arf!
Tsukishima smiled as he pats Kaito's head before it changed into serious look at the twins. "Don't separate from us, okay?" they both nod but he's still not finished. "I heard that Mall of Aisa is big, like huge! Be careful, you might get kidnapped! Don't take you hats off, okay?! You didn't forget putting on sunscreen, right?!"
"Yes. Be careful, too."
"Okay. Let's go."
They just internally laugh at the older male's overprotectiveness. It's not like they'll be kidnapped. They 're not famous and known from being a well-known family. He's just being paranoid but the thought, counts.
