Chapter 26 - Chapter 26

The news stations also focused on live streaming the documentary which was currently where I was watching it from in my house. That day I had fallen ill with Malaria however even though I was supposed to be in bed resting, my body was instinctively telling me to continue watching the documentary even as the headache I had got worse by the minute.

"I'll ask again. Why were they anxious Mrs. Naomi?"

(Mrs. Naomi was the name of the reporter in the documentary.)

"Because they wanted to create more things due to a spur in creativity?" said Mrs. Naomi

"No" said Aaron

"Because the angels had failed in their tasks" said a camera man

"No"

"Then why?" asked Mrs. Naomi

Aaron looked Naomi dead in the eye as he said, "Because they were bored."

Everyone watching the documentary was baffled by the man's answer. They were restless because they were bored?….That was impossible. Gods are known to be omniscient and omnipotent beings that are always right and hence the audacity of this man to claim that they were bored of their creations was the same as admitting that the gods were no different from a child who played with and threw away a toy that it deemed boring. The religious heads of various religions in the world who were also watching the documentary clenched their fists in fury at the words of this man.

'Blasphemy' thought Pope Francis utterly enraged as he sat in his office in his cathedral in Rome. He was watching the documentary on his phone after receiving what he believed to be the command of God in his dream which was to watch the documentary of the two explorers. At first, he had wondered why his vision had commanded him to watch the documentary but now he understood. If these people were to continue spilling whatever lies that they had thought of, then the faith of the entire population in his religion would crumble which would make both the religion and him obsolete.

Although the Pope was thought of to be someone with no desires other than guiding people into worshipping and believing in God, he was in reality a man who greatly valued money and power. Most people don't know this but being the Pope of the Catholic faith put him on par with the president of the United states perhaps even more in terms of power. The faith and belief of millions of people was a powerful and terrifying thing to have. This was why the leaders of the major powers such as China, Russia, US, Germany and even Europe did not dare invoke the wrath of the Pope whose followers all over the world were more than the population of both US and Russia combined and yet these men were declaring his God to be false while also saying that God was similar to man, capable of boredom and cruelty.

This was simply a declaration of war!!

"I will find you and show you what it means to invoke the wrath of the greatest servant of God!" thought the Pope in anger as he made numerous phone calls to the other religious leaders in the world

Aaron watched the bewildered faces of the people around as he calmly took a sip of water. He could understand how they felt because he had also wielded those same expressions many years ago when he had first met the Estranghe with Hank. The first impression he had of them when they first met was that they were a completely primitive race due to the way they were dressed in ragged and tattered animal skin and also how they stared at them as if they were alien-like.

They were however much to his surprise, completely friendly as they had welcomed Hank and him into their community and over the next few months, they got more and more interested in the Estranghe people's culture and so they decided to learn their language in order to better understand their culture.

The other reason that they wanted to learn their language was to be allowed to enter the "Caves of Origin" which what they called the caves that they were restricted to. It was a cave that only accessible by those who were given permission by the elder of the Estranghe but one of the requirements was to become one of the Estranghe which meant learning their culture. It took them ten years to learn the language as it was incredibly difficult to them compared to the other languages that they had learned during their travels around the world such as Mandarin and French but even though it was difficult, their gut feeling told them that it was worth it.

They went to see the elder whom they had never met before since he lived in one of the restricted caves but could now visit due to having learned the language. When they entered the restricted cave belonging to the elder, they saw a large hut in the middle of the cave and surrounding it was a line that formed a circle which glowed red in color.

Inside the circle were two Estranghe that stood at the entrance of the hut, in each of their hands was a sword and a small shield that they held up in high alert at the sight of Hank and Aaron. As Hank and Aaron approached the hut, the red line glowed brighter and brighter as if it was reacting to their presence but they both shook their heads at the thought because after all in their simple minds the line could simply be a decoration that reacted to body heat, reflected the tiniest amount of light present or maybe it could just be some device that reacted to human footsteps made by the military that the Estranghe had accidentally discovered.

"So, they are knowledgeable in technology" said Hank, "They might not be as primitive as they thought."

When they arrived a meter away from the line, a large fire erupted from the line forming a four-meter-tall wall of flames in front of them that burned and flickered intensely.

"Holy shit!" said Hank as he fell backwards onto his ass

"What in the hell… " said Aaron in amazement. They had imagined different scenarios of what the line could be but never in a million years had they thought that it was something that produced a wall of fire. It was almost like a scene from a sci-fi movie.
