Anessa looked down with a sniffle, out of fear of her voice betraying her, she only nodded in understanding.
Doctor Kelp brought her hand to her shoulder, "It's okay to be sad you know, it's okay to cry; there's no one here but yourself that you need to be strong for."
Anessa wiped her cheeks as she cleared her throat, "I have to be strong for Emily, she'll need me to be strong for her." She met the doctor's eyes, "Can I see her?"
"She's not going anywhere," Doctor Kelp started. "Why don't you go home, freshen up and get some rest? I can tell you're exhausted."
Anessa shook her head, "No, I don't want to leave until I see her. I want to see with my own eyes that she'll be okay."
Doctor Kelp didn't argue with her further or try to convince her otherwise, but before she left, she told her, "Please get some rest afterward, I'm sure your health is just as important to your friend as much as hers is to you."
