It was winter. The streets were white and filled with people. Bright Christmas lights were flashing and people were smiling. I envied them.
Born under a nice family, they didn't ever starve nor knew how harsh is the world for us beggars. My name is Emma. I was abandoned by my mother at the age of 6 and since then I have been alone. Today was like every other day. Going around the town, searching for food, fighting for it, and then trying to sleep in the alleyway. This was my life for 9 years. But time stopped, and I couldn't move. I heard a noise coming from my right and saw a truck going to run over me. My eyes darted at the man and saw him there looking at me with an apologetic smile and pity in his eyes. Then I felt pain in my neck and the world became black.
But before it blackened completely I heard his words.
"I hope you have a better life in the next world..."
"Ouch." I felt a terrible pain in my neck and head. After some time it subsided and I opened my eyes.
I found myself in an unfamiliar forest. I tried to get up from the grass but couldn't. I look down and OH MY GOD IS THAT FUR? Why the hell do I have fur? Also, I have four legs and a fluffy tail. Did I die and reincarnate as some animal? So there is reincarnation after death. Was the man I met some god or something?
