Anneliese shuddered at her daughter's words because she had already thought of actually writing a letter to try and stall time because she could already predict what was going to happen, and she did this to try and minimize the damage, it was selfish but she had to. But she is immediately shut down by Alvitr when she requests her to use the Crystal Ball, she already knows that she can't escape this one.
"I'm really sorry, Alvitr that I have failed you. I know that this is shameless of me to ask, but can you please hold off your anger this time? I promise to teach those two a lesson as well as everyone so they know that they can't mess with Elisa anymore, but please… don't conflict with everyone in this. This whole family is already shattered since your departure and I don't want for it to shatter even more." Anneliese pleaded to Alvitr as she was even ready to kneel on the ground to beg for forgiveness.
Even though she was cold and stern to everyone, there was one thing that she would never do, and that was to leave her family behind. When Alvitr said that she would leave the family, she was the one to protest and said that she could understand and take it if Alvitr married the commoner that she fell in love with. But she just accepted it, as she also knew that she had no choice but to follow her daughter's wishes.
When Alvitr saw this, her eyes softened. She immediately caught her Mother before she could even try to kneel, as she didn't want to see the person she looked up to the most beg while kneeling on the ground. In her heart, she still holds her Mother close to her heart as she was the only one who didn't take advantage of her unlike everyone in her family, she was the kindest one out of all of them, so to see her kneeling for her daughter to beg didn't sit well in her heart.
"Don't, don't do this, Mom. I know that you just want the best for the family, but I'm not going to do what you are thinking. If you're thinking that I will take back all of the properties and everything that I gave them, that's not what I'm going to do. They can have all of it, but the position of the next Duchess of this Strasser belongs to Elisa. I'm just going to say to all of them that since Elisa is the best contender for the position, I'll support her, and they know what will that bring… Her spot for the Duchess is already set, no one can take that away, as to this day… I still have the connection to over 80% of the Nobles as well as the Emperor and all of them are willing to support me and Elisa as long as I say a word.." Alvitr shook her head as she hugged Anneliese's shivering body and comforted her with those words.
"So please, don't worry, Mom… But if you really want to help me, please get my siblings out of this estate and move them to some other place. The main family is really the only one who should be here and from now on that is going to be me and Elisa, as well as you, as for Father… you can make that choice." Alvitr requested as she helped Anneliese sit on the living room sofa to help her calm down.
But her words saying that she won't take anything back made Anneliese sigh of relief as that was the thing that she was fearing the most, but after hearing those comforting words, she hugged Alvitr and thanked her before looking into her eyes.
"I think I can do something about that, after all, the new mansion that was getting built is already almost done, and it was supposed to be the vacation house for all of us. But since you want all of them out, I think I can move them there and that place is great too since it's beside an ocean and they can have a relaxing place all to themselves." Anneliese said as she held Alvitr's hands together and said the good news to which Alvitr just nodded her head and answered that it was good.
"That would be good, Mom. I really appreciate your help, Mom even though this is a hard request even coming from me because I know deep down you love all of them equally just as you love me. Thank you…" Alvitr silently thanked her as she hugged her Mother and the hug lasted for a few more seconds before she finally pulled back, and just as she pulled back, Alvitr saw Elisa looking at her with her shining eyes and in her right hand, she was holding her favorite stuffed rabbit.
"Mommy?" Seeing her, Alvitr wasted no time as she immediately approached her and carried her in her arms worried that something might happen to her as she was already walking even though she was badly injured. But seeing her bright smile as if nothing happened put a smile on her face as it was enough for her to tell that she wasn't in any pain at all.
In reality, Elisa does feel some pain, but for someone who has felt something worse, this kind of pain was something more like a bite from a mosquito so she simply ignored it, she can heal it using some Magic, but of course, she didn't do it. But the reason that she was here was that she had actually listened to their conversation from the start as she was already awake for quite some time.
She was awake when she was back in her room and when the Doctor was attending to her, but she just acted as if she was asleep to not gather any attention to her as she wanted to see for herself if Alvitr had really changed or not. But hearing how she talked or just even looked was more than enough, especially when she heard that she wanted her Grandmother to kick all of her siblings out of the house brought a smile to her face.
She simply wrapped her arms around her Mother's neck before resting her head on her neck to hide herself from everyone, as she currently had the biggest smile. Though the only thing that she didn't want is that her Mother was for her to inherit the title of the Duchess, if it was the small price she needed to pay for her Mother to get back at her own feet, she would gladly take it as it was more than worth it as there still some advantages of being a Duchess.
Plus it won't really hurt her so-called dream of being a Detective as she can still be what she wants even if she becomes the Duchess. The reason that she wanted to be a Detective is so that she could gather more information she read that Detectives in this world are highly respected and that they have more power than the Army and can even rival the power of the Royal Guards. Being a Duchess on top of that, her information gathering would be smoother than what she planned, so it was good.
