After a couple of minutes of walking, Elisa and Avitr finally arrived at the church, they immediately went inside and sat on one of the long chairs to listen to the priest. As they were listening to the priest, Elisa's mind already wandered to something else as she began to plan the easiest way for her to assassinate the future Emperor. When Alvitr saw how her daughter's mind was drifting to something else, she couldn't help but chuckle.
She then gently flicks her forehead before laughing softly as her daughter has such a serious face as she ponders something.
"Are you thinking about a boy again, Elisa" Alvitr teased as she looked at Elisa from the corner of her eyes seeing her widen her eyes before hitting her with her little hands, she chuckled even more, but she stayed silent about it as she just placed Elisa on her lap.
"Mom! What are you saying… I'm not thinking about any boys, why are you making it seem that way? I was just thinking about something else…" Elisa said with a 'red face' as she hid in her Mother's chest, even though she was not really thinking about such things, it was true that she was thinking about a boy, and hearing that her Mother had guessed it right.
She was not embarrassed by that fact of course, she was just shocked because her Mothe had got it right even though she was just teasing her, Elisa even guessed that it was one of the perks of being a Mother, they have great perception when it comes to their children.
Because of this, Elisa just chose to sit in her Mother's lap as she placed her head on her chest so that no one could see her as she continued to make plans. It was hard for her because she thought that assassination would be too easy and she guessed that she wouldn't get the full rewards of it because even now, she doesn't even know what else she needs to do to get the maximum rewards as that is only her real goal.
But as she was thinking of a way to kill the future Emperor, her thoughts were suddenly stopped when she heard screams outside of the church, and when she heard this, she immediately raised her head to see if anyone had noticed it. But it seems that she was the only one and it was all because of her great sense of being a Magician.
"Mom… can we leave early? I'm not feeling good all of a sudden…" Elisa suddenly said as she looked up at Alvitr's face who just chuckled because she already knew that her daughter just wanted to leave early so she made that excuse, but when she suddenly saw her daughter's flushed face and was sweating a lot. Her expression changed immediately as she placed her hand on her forehead and was stunned to see that it was hot.
She stood up abruptly before apologizing as she rushed out of the church to go to the doctor's house to get a check-up on her daughter because whenever her daughter gets a fever it always stays on her for a few days for some unknown reason and because of this she was always stuck on the bed making her worry so much because her daughter gets weakened so much.
But this was not also one of Elisa's actions because this was a condition of her's that just came randomly, but now that it came back again, she was sure that there could be only two reasons why it kept coming back. It was either it came back when she overexerted her body too much or it came back whenever there was an Eclipse before the night she got the fever.
Whether it was a coincidence or not, she also wants to know the reason for that now because she can't even lift her eyelids due to how tired and exhausted she feels. But what concerns her the most is the screaming that she heard because she was all too familiar with such screams, it was the scream of someone pleading for mercy to not get killed.
"Mom… Let's go straight to our house, I just want to rest for now." Elisa said as she summons her strength to clutch her Mother's clothes and pleaded with her to not go to the Doctor's house because it was not safe, at least within their house they would be safe because she had already set up a Magic Circle there that was strong enough to protect them.
"But… alright. If that is what my baby wants…" Alvitr felt conflicted but in the end, she chose to accept the decision of her daughter as she went straight to her house and ignored the house of the doctor and went straight to their home.
Alvitr then placed Elisa on her bed before rushing out to get a more comfortable sleepwear she also grabbed a bowl of cold water and a towel to wipe her body to keep her cool. Finally, after everything was done and finished, Alvitr sat beside Elisa's sleeping figure as she held her hand and prayed to her God to make her daughter all right as she couldn't bear to see her in pain.
"Please be all right… God, don't make my daughter suffer please, she doesn't deserve it. If you want to make someone suffer it should be me because I made this mistake and I should atone for it." Alvitr prayed silently as she held her unconscious daughter's hands tightly but gently, her heart felt like it was being squeezed when she saw her in such an uncomfortable state.
This was the 3rd time this had already happened and all of them were not a good experience for her, especially the first one because at that time, Elisa couldn't leave the bed for more than a week. Not only that, she also wasn't able to leave the house for a month because of how much her body weakened at that time, but the worst part is that she was only three at that time.
But as she was tending to her daughter's sickness, just outside of their village, there was huge trouble coming. People were getting slaughtered by a Monster outbreak as they couldn't fend off for themselves and even the guards had already died from the Monsters because they were just too powerful for them to fight. But Alvitr didn't know this or anyone from the inside of the village because of the Wall and Magic Circle that was protecting them from the Monsters.
"God... if you're there, please just give me whatever my daughter has, and don't let her suffer. I'll gladly take them as long as she stays healthy and happy." Alvitr prayed harder but then her prayer suddenly stopped when she felt a giant earthquake making her worry even more.
