"As expected of an extra....sigh"

"Well at least, I am still a little stronger than the main protagonist, after all the main protagonist will get his cheat just before the mid-term exams."

In the novel, the main protagonist is a guy who is constantly being bullied by others. He lives in fear and despair every day due to constant bullying.

Then all of a sudden, just a week before the mid-term exams start, he awakens his 'heavenly cheat system'.

Then he face-slaps all of his bullies, top-scores the written exams, and increases his rank from lowest to top 100 directly. Turning his fate around instantly.

"It's such a cliche story"

Rio read this novel because it was recommended by his friend, otherwise, he wouldn't have read a cliche novel like that.

He had already seen many similar novels and he didn't like the protagonists who suddenly become arrogant and rude once they get the heavenly cheats.

'It's kind of cringe...'

Rio shook his head and stopped thinking about this matter further.

'Thinking about this is not important right now... i need strength to survive in this world, I will get expelled from this academy soon if I don't show enough potential...'

'This world follows the rule of 'Survival of the fittest'... weaklings have no place in this academy...'

'That's why, I should not dwell on these things... First I should go and steal some important chances, If I am late, then the protagonist will get them before me...'

Rio finished his tea and wore some casual clothes.

He looked up the map of the city with his smartphone and compared his novel's memories with the memories of the original Rio to figure out the geography.

It took him half an hour to figure out what he needed to reach the destination quickly and efficiently. (He is an awakened individual now, he has a sharp memory...)

Rio left the student dorms and came to the nearby flying bus's station which was right beside the main gate of the academy.

Although he had previous Rio memories, he was still amazed by all the high-tech things around him, not to mention the bus he got on was a flying bus, there were even people who were using small flying bikes to travel.

According to his memories, Mana stones are used as fuel for vehicles in this world, it's a clean fuel that reduces pollution significantly.

Moreover, it has better efficiency.

While the bus flew into the sky without any problems, Rio sat near the window and looked at the scenery for the next hour or so.

He continued to sort out his jumbled-up memories for the whole journey.

...

Rift Mountain Range.

After traveling on the bus for an hour, Rio finally reached his destination.

He got off the bus at the station and looked around to savor the beauty of this immensely big mountain range.

'so this is the famous Rift Mountain, it's quite tall'

Although Rio knew about this place from the novel, seeing it with his own eyes still surprised him a lot.

The Rift Mountain is very tall and is surrounded by several spatial rifts.

No ordinary human has climbed this mountain because even its top is surrounded by spatial rifts that are dangerous to ordinary people.

These spatial rifts are like a doorway to unknown destinations if you enter them, no one will be able to predict where these rifts will throw you out in the world, and if you get lost, it will be nearly impossible to come back.

But these rules don't apply to the protagonists, they are children of heaven after all, how can they die just because of a mere space rift?

When on a tour the villain will kick the protagonist into a rift and unlike other rifts, it will lead him inside a hidden room in this mountain.

Thinking about the information about this place, Rio climbed a tall tree and looked around to find the target.

'Hmm, let's see, a black and sinister-looking rift surrounded by 5 blood color rifts on the backside of the mountain near a beautiful lake....'

Rio started to look around and after a rigorous hike and jumping from one tree to another for two hours straight, he finally saw the rift in the distance. (He has enhanced stamina and sight due to being an awakener...)

"oh! found it!"

Rio made a straight dash towards the rift when he finally found it after so much hard work.

After jumping on trees for another five minutes, he finally arrived in front of the rift that he had been looking for.

The rift did indeed look sinister and scary, moreover, Rio wasn't even sure if his gamble of trying to steal the chance of the protagonist would work or now, and this made him hesitate a bit.

'If this doesn't work, I will end up being teleported to some random location on the planet... that will be extremely bad...'

'I doubt I will be able to survive outside the human empire for more than a day with my current strength...'

Rio hesitated for a few minutes, but in the end, he made up his mind, he had no other choice besides jumping into this rift and gambling his life.

'There is no going back now... this is the only way to become strong for a measly and weak extra like him....'

A look of determination appeared in his emotionless eyes and he stopped hesitating.

"God of professional thieves... bless me with luck!"

After saying his prayers, Rio jumped into the rift without hesitation.

Suddenly, a sense of weightlessness came and his senses got blocked.

...

Unknown Place.

After a few minutes, his senses returned and he opened his eyes.

He found himself standing in an ancient-looking room.

Everything in the room looked dilapidated.

The whole place is covered in dust.

'Is this some kind of underground hidden chamber that has not been visited for several millennia?'

Although he knew about this place from the novel, it was still surprising to see such old-looking architecture in this modern and high-tech world.

Rio glanced at the walls and a frown appeared on his expressionless face.

'This architecture... this wall seems to be made of concrete... but according to the memories of the original Rio, this world doesn't use concrete nowadays... they stopped using concrete thousands of years ago...'

'Nowadays, they use enhanced magical materials...'

After careful examination, Rio confirmed that there was just this one small room here and nothing else.

Rio stopped thinking about the room.

'If it's the same as it was in the novel... then this should work...'

Rio walked to the middle of the room took out a dagger from his storage ring and made a small cut on his finger.

He dripped a few drops of blood from his finger on the floor.

Suddenly, a huge complex magic circle appeared in the whole room and started to glow brightly.

"argh!"

The sudden pain caused him to fall on the ground and his body started to twitch horribly.

Rio started to feel pain all over his body. A huge amount of mana started to forcefully rush into his body from the magic circle.

It was a horrible experience. It felt like thousands of injections being pierced in every spot of your body.

It felt like inhumane torture.

Luckily for Rio, after 5 minutes, the pain finally disappeared and the glowing magic circle also faded away.

A portal opened in front of him.

Rio slowly opened his eyes after the pain subsided, he felt tired and weak all over his body. He simply wanted to find a place and sleep.

That inhumane torture caused him insane mental exhaustion.

'This is likely the portal for the exit...'

After calming down his senses, Rio got up from the ground weakly. His body twitched from time to time.

He slowly entered the portal, and the same sense of weightlessness came and teleported Rio outside.

After a few minutes, he found himself standing near the same lake.

Looking at the sky, Rio felt more at ease.

'Ugh, it was horrible... I don't want to go through that pain ever again...'

It was already getting dark.

The sun was setting on the horizon and red sunlight fell on Rio's tired body.

He checked the time on his wrist clock and found that it had been only one hour since he entered the rift.

'It seems I was fast enough...'

'I will look at my status later, let's leave this place first...'

'At night, due to some unknown phenomenon, these rifts will produce a powerful suction force that can swallow a weak person like me easily... that's how the villain who kicked the protagonist ended up dying too...'

Only people above Rank C can resist it.

Thus it's better to leave this place early.

Without wasting any more time, Rio headed toward a nearby hotel, he wanted to sleep so badly that he didn't want to stay here for one more second.
