Chapter 1 - Rejection

"I'm sorry, but we can't be together, I've already fallen for the hero." Victor's Childhood friend Selena Whitlock. Victor's heart was broken victor Felt pain in his heart it was like he was shot by an arrow in the back.

"May I know Why...?" Victor asked Softly

"You're not even strong enough to protect me from monsters or villains," Selena snarled.

"Selena I can protect you from any Jeopardy Selena, please let me be your Boyfriend I have trained for 3 years just to be a perfect match with you."Victor said. For the past 3 years since he was 13, he started training to protect his dear childhood friend. he tried to touch Selena's hand,...Selena slaps Victor's hand away.

She pierced Victor with a spine-chilling gaze

"you're weak, Victor Your magical powers are too weak, how can you even protect me with your useless magic'

Victor's knees gave up, he felt numb. His eyes were glazed and lost.

Victor breathes out and looked up, trembling. People had their phones up, all pointing at him, snickering and howling with laughter. Words of pity and taunts showered at the boy. Victor crouched idly, it was as though time had stopped responding, this was it, he thought, the end.

A tall, muscular figure approaches Selena with a big grin. He was charming, dazzling practically, he could never be like, Victor coughed. "Have you finally made it clear to him? That both of you aren't meant to be?" The blonde asked. "Yeah! I can spend more time with you now without that little peasant meddling in!" A peasant, Victor repeated, that's all he always was. A meddling peasant.

Victor sees hero approaching Selena

"Have you Finally Rejected that man?"Hero asked Selena

"Yeah, I can finally have my time with you," Selena told the hero with a cute tone

The blonde figure turned to Victor, his lips thinned into a sinister smile. "Hey, guys. While you're at it, I wanna see some bruises on this animal. Make him regret touching and breathing the same air as Selena, won't you?" A student of average height stepped in and saluted sarcastically, "Gladly, sir. Permission to have my fellow friends help?" The blonde hero nodded, smirking. "You heard him! Let's go, get that little shit!" Male students swiftly ran, it looked like a scene of animals running towards prey all at the same time. They ripped his clothes, hit his face, pulled his hair. And in the midst of all, Victor caught the slightest view of the blonde hero pressing his lips with Selena. His heart was shattered into tiny pieces, pieces that can no longer be held together.

He was in pain, both emotionally and physically. It was never meant to be this way. He was supposed to live a decent life with a decent family. He had bruises all over, he couldn't resist when a hoard of students are beating him up with the hero's consent. It was painful. He couldn't scream for help. No one was there for him. He was all alone, in a dark place. A sudden clapping was to be heard, and the horror ended, it was the hero, clapping smugly. "People, people, let's hold on for a bit," his eyes turned to pathetic Victor laying on the floor. He grinned, a dollop of spit landed on Victor's pale white skin. "Somehow," he started. "Little lucky Victor is still alive even after all that. You're tough, I give you that." The crowd booed, the hero's eyes switched to them, and the booing lowered. "Hey, little shit," he kicked his face. "Don't. You. Dare. Speak. To. Selena. Ever. Again." Each pause earned a kick strong enough to launch Victor away. Victor's back landed on the wall, he looked at his hands— they were cut; his clothes— ripped to pieces. Alas, he touched his face— blood. And then more blood. He was bleeding. It hurts, he thought, stop it. The hero stomped nearer to where Victor had ended up, he pins him with his foot pressed on the wall. "Victor," he says nonchalantly. "You will never have a chance with Serena. Hell, even Luca Martin has a better chance with her than you." The crowd coos and, Victor swears he could hear Serena trying to hold her laugh. The hero grabbed Victor by the chin, "Hey, I'm not done with you. Hey, listen, you, Victor, you are nothing. You are trash. You are the disgrace of this academy," he pauses to stare at his eyes. "You are disgusting. Pack your things, go home."

2 hours later

A few hours later, he was on his doorstep, still very much bruised. The bleeding had stopped, however, the pitiful looks of the passers-by were scarring to him. He enters the house, and his mother gasps.

"Victor! What happened to you? Did you do something?"

Victor didn't answer and walked through the stairs. His parents were cold and neglectful. His three older sisters mock him. For something as low as his magical power was practically useless to the world. But, he paused, and for a moment he wanted to feel loved. He turned to his mother who peeked through the walls,

"Tough day at school. Got rejected by the prettiest girl at school and then got beaten up by her boyfriend and his lackeys."
