At the top of the mountain, a three-meter-sized monster with an old mossy jug-shaped head just stared at the battle, its red eyes tapering as it licked its mouth.
The mages had not realized the existence of the jug monsters and were only busy fighting off beasts that were almost on par with them.
"Has no help from the city yet arrived?". A middle-aged man who was holding back a beast's attack using a magic shield asked anxiously to the companion beside him.
In front of him, a boar-like beast that was almost the size of an elephant with hard spines stood along its back.
"They should have arrived, but I don't know if there has been a report from the border, maybe they were blocked by something until they got here." A nearby magic scythe user answered in a bitter voice while battling other beasts.
"Shit, we won't be able to hold on much longer, sooner or later we'll all be exhausted, while these beasts are fierce and attack relentlessly as if they have no limits on strength." The shield-wielding middle-aged man felt that their circumstances were truly at a disadvantage.
"Jero". The middle-aged man shouted loudly calling for his partner who was guarding the purple wall.
"What's the matter, Ken?". Jero answered quickly, Ken is the leader in the group so he will quickly listen to it.
"We must retreat now, strengthen the purple wall now and prepare the entrance for the witches". Ken shouted to Jero loudly.
"Asuka, cast a mist to move to block the sight of the beasts, we retreat now, otherwise we may all be seriously injured, the village will be in danger". Ken continued giving orders to a beautiful witch not far from his place.
"Everyone listen to me, we retreat now, take all the injured". Ken shouted loudly to all the wizards who were fighting the beasts, clearly he knew he was in danger.
Everyone immediately nodded, they knew they wouldn't be able to hold on any longer and would soon run out of energy, if they kept pushing themselves, at worst they would end up in the belly of the beasts.
"Ashes brain fog".
Asuka immediately shouted and issued a mist move, the entire area around the battle was immediately covered in a cold mist that made it difficult for the beasts to move and see the surroundings.
In the air, even some of the beasts that could fly could see nothing but thick fog.
"Open, everyone! Enter now". Ken shouted who was waiting in front of the purple wall door.
The magicians immediately entered quickly, a moment later dozens of balls of air and fire from the sky by the beasts flew straight into the thick fog, but luckily the magicians were already inside the purple wall.
"Bring all the injured and give treatment immediately, then I want some magicians who still have a lot of strength to stay on guard here". Ken orders quickly.
"Jero, how is the situation, how long can the purple wall last?". Ken asked his partner who continued to channel his energy to keep the purple wall active.
"In the village, there are only 6 people who can control the purple wall, then it takes 4 people simultaneously to stay active, that means we have a bit of time off.
If it's just the attacks from the beasts we might be able to last long enough, but if the monsters are to join the attack, we're not sure we can defend the purple wall much longer". Jero immediately summarized briefly with a bitter face.
Ken and several of his companions were silent for a moment, they still remembered how the witches had been crushed by the jug monster, even some of the villagers had become its prey.
"If that jug monster shows up again, and added on by all these beasts, we won't have much hope". Ken muttered.
"That means we can only wait until help from the city arrives, dammit". Said one of the magicians who seemed to be starting to panic.
Ken immediately sat cross-legged and closed his eyes, he knew the situation was not good, but for now, there was nothing to do but strengthen the purple walls, he tried to think of a way out.
Ken began to notice what had actually happened, first many beasts came to the village and attacked at the same time.
What's even weirder is that from the information the village elder received, the same thing happened not only in the rain village but also in other villages in the cloud city, as if someone was controlling the beasts.
This incident had never happened before, Ken could confirm this and what made things worse was the help from the city that had not yet arrived.
Thinking that Ken could only sigh as he continued to think hard to find another way out.
Now they are really like birds in a cage, fortunately, the food supply is still quite a lot, but unfortunately, the supply of medicine is almost running out, in the village, there are only 2 magicians who are in the field of medicine.
However, they still need medicinal ingredients to make external and internal wounds heal perfectly.
"Our strength can't even defeat the beasts, and if that monster comes again, it will all be over, we can only save ourselves and a few villagers". Ken was still sitting cross-legged with his eyes closed.
"Chief, we must not give up so easily, this village is our birthplace, how can we not allow it to be destroyed by these disgusting beasts". Asuka who was nearby said in annoyance.
Ken opened his eyes slowly and looked at her sharply, "I'm not saying we will give up, we have fought so far, and some witches have fallen, many residents have also lost their lives, I'm just thinking of ways to get out of this problem".
Ken said sternly, his eyes clearly still burning with fighting spirit.
Meanwhile, one day earlier elsewhere in the forest, a group of 10 magicians was being surrounded by a herd of silver-winged beasts, and among the beasts, one of them looked quite different.
The figure had golden-colored wings, had the shape of a normal human with thick bird-like feathers all over its body, its head was like that of a crow with a sharp golden beak, long curved claws could be seen on its fingers and toes, its eyes were pointed with fiery red color.
"That's... The golden beaked monster".
Shouted one of the magicians who recognized the figure of the monster in front of him, hearing that all the magicians became increasingly wary.
"Haha, you guys just get here, this will be your grave". The golden-billed monster laughed loudly with a murderous aura, it couldn't wait to devour the magicians who were on their way to the rain village.
