Chapter 13 - The Elder's Decision.

"Elder!".

The magicians immediately bowed respectfully, "They've been taken to the treatment room, don't worry". Jero answered with a little limp.

Meanwhile, Ken's eyes were still on the hill, "I'm going to beat that bastard monster". Said Ken suddenly.

Ken's words made everyone shocked, "Ken! Don't be rash?". The village elder looked restless with a worried look on his face, he felt he had just heard something that was very hard to believe.

"That's right, we shouldn't be provoked, maybe that's what the bastard monster wants, we still really need you here". Jero said quickly, he didn't agree with Ken's plan at all.

Everyone already knows the power of the Jug Monster, even the beasts outside the light armor that are weaker than the monster are extremely hard to beat.

Moreover, Ken is a defense type mage, his attack power will not be able to hurt the Jug Monster easily, and on the contrary, even though Ken's defense is very strong, but all have limitations, Ken will not be able to survive if the jug monster continues to attack.

"But we have no other choice, if this continues, everyone...". Ken couldn't even continue his words because he felt he had given up.

"Ken, I understand your feelings, all of us who are here also have the same feeling, you only intend to sacrifice yourself, you already know the power of the Monster and thought to at least be able to do it right?

That way the jug monster will need some time to recover.

But Ken you know, no one wants that". Jero said trying to calm him down.

"Jero's right, everyone still needs you here, so let me go there". Said the elder in a voice that seemed relaxed.

"No! Elder?".

Everyone was shocked, they did think of stopping Ken's actions, but what happened was that the village elder wanted to replace Ken.

Of course, no one agrees, for them both Ken and the elders, both are equally important.

"All of you calm down, I totally agree with Ken's thinking, so now I ask you guys? Who has an attack that can threaten the monster or at least be able to inflict a large enough wound and restrain the monster in a few days?"

Receiving such a question the magicians could only remain silent.

"You should be able to trust me a little bit." The white-bearded elder smiled faintly, then gently held Ken's shoulder.

"Ken! I leave the ones here to you, as much as possible I will buy time, at least until all the boats needed are finished, that way you all can escape from that monster". The white-bearded elder continued while looking at Ken.

"Everyone knows you have great potential to protect them, so this time let this old man do something". The white-bearded elder said firmly, he immediately turned his head towards the hill.

"I want some people to distract the beasts until I enter the forest, after which you must return to the purple wall". asked the white-bearded elder while turning his back on everyone without turning his head in the slightest.

Hearing that, everyone could only look down sadly, but nothing could prevent the decision of the only Elder in their village.

As everyone drifted into grief and despair, Ken began to raise his head and stood firm.

"All of you raise your heads and don't whine like little kids, our job is to distract those damn beasts, the older generation has given life to us, and will continue like that".

Ken shouted loudly as if he wasn't sad in the slightest, but in his heart, he actually couldn't even stand up.

The white-bearded elder smiled proudly as one of his favorite disciples grew to be so strong and wise, "Ken, you are a great wizard, I firmly believe you can protect everyone". The white-bearded elder looked up at the sky and smiled in satisfaction.

The purple wall has 4 doors, the east door that is commonly used and closest to the beast horde has been damaged by the jug monster, so it is no longer usable.

Meanwhile, the wild animals were gathering at the North door which was the direction of the hill where the jug monster was.

"The elders are going out of the North door, and it's our job to lure the beast to the west door. Ken immediately told all the wizards his plan.

"No Ken, it's quite risky, the west and south doors are escape routes for the residents, if we lure them there, the beasts might notice something.

"I'm going out of the west door, even if it's a bit far, I think it's the best choice". Obviously the elder with certainty.

"But elder, the west door is directly connected to the sea, and the place is too spacious, the trees are so tenuous, you will find it difficult to hide". Said Ken because he did not agree.

"It's true, the north door is closer to the forest, and at full speed may be the jug monsters won't have time to notice it, but our priority is the residents, I'll try my best to stay out of sight". The white-bearded elder replied confidently, then without waiting for a response from the others he immediately dashed towards the west door.

"Elder?" Called Ken loudly as the white-bearded elder sped up quickly, but of course, the white-bearded elder just smiled faintly without turning his head, he seemed to ignore it and only focused on his speed.
