"You don't actually believe it, do you?"
Marcus briefly thought about her question, before responding. "Why shouldn't I? I've been told nothing by the Gods, so once I do get told something then why shouldn't I think about it and consider that there's some truth to it?"
"Because, we're dealing with an evil force."
"Says who? The Gods, the same ones that might have caused him to become hostile? Who else?"
"You. You know he's evil, on some level at least."
Marcus did not respond. He did not know what to think right now. The possibility he was being manipulated was real, but so was the possibility that the old man was lying.
Either way, he did find himself agreeing with parts of what the old man had said. The North was neglected by the capital, and rom what he knew of it the South was not like the North in any way. Things did need to change, it was just a matter how they were changed.
