The road could easily be divided up into three different sections. The first part was still firmly in the North, and was surrounded by very little vegetation and a lot of open space. Beyond that, signs of plant life appeared, and quickly grew into a large wooded area. Judging from the sheer volume of the trees, which grew over the road as if constricting those on it, this area was the one where those who sought to take advantage of travellers operated. Even further ahead was the section of the road that was firmly within the domain the capital. This began as soon as the walls of the capital were visible, which happened while someone was still in the forest, albeit near the end of the forest.
The journey through the first section was uneventful. Thanks to the openness of it, Marcus and the others had a solid view of their surroundings. Despite this, they saw nothing but the effect of wind on the rock and open space.
