With his focus firmly on the crab, Marcus noticed the beast in the corner of his eye, sprinting across the rocky surface in an attempt to get close to the monster. Marcus and the crab approached each other at the same time, starting with a walk and quickly evolving into a run.
The crab struck first, slamming a leg down towards Marcus. Raising the sword in his right hand, he parried the bow with some effort, turning the leg aside. He slashed the blade back across to his left, carving open the creature's leg as he pushed forward. Once underneath the crab, he snapped his fingers and created a ball of flame in his left hand, a ball of flame that was bigger than any he had previously created.
'This power... how?'
