"Why aren't we doing anything?" she angrily asked, rising to her feet. "We should be making preparations, not sitting around waiting for someone you chose." Despite how deep and absorbing the colour of her black armour was, visually dimming the room as it absorbed light from the various torches that lined the narrow hall and seemingly absorbing her into it as well, it was clear to all in that room just how far the extent of her rage went. "We watched for centuries, as you gave him chance after chance. Why should we give him another chance?"
"Calm yourself, Tenny," her twin said, trying to calm her.
"No, Loxar, I won't. You know as well as I that what we're doing is idiocy. And don't call me that, I'm not some pathetic child."
"Tenebryll. We mustn't act rashly. One bad move from us could tear the world apart," a woman calmly spoke from her golden throne.
"But that Usurper is already moving. There won't be any world left to protect if we do nothing."
"Respectfully, Mother, Tenebryll is right," a vermilion clad man said, stepping forward as he spoke.
"The thirst for conflict sits that deep inside you too, Ignis?"
"No, Mother. I just understand the need to stop the Usurper," he responded.
"You think I don't?" she responded, her tone suddenly becoming sharper.
"O-of course not."
The woman referred to as 'Mother' fell silent as her mind raced to find a solution.
"Eroth," she spoke after a long pause, puncturing the awkward silence that had fallen over the room, "One hundred spirits. Send them to Threll. Merely reinforce the defenders there."
A woman, clad in taupe armour, stepped forward before dropping to one knee. "It will be done."
"In the meantime, we must put our faith in him."
"You will all be on high alert. Prepare to deploy your warriors wherever necessary. But do not act rashly. Especially you, Tenebryll."
"Yes, Mother," she said, bowing out of respect. "Tell me something. Why now?" she asked as the others left the room.
"What do you mean?"
Why are they moving now? Why are we? Why did you assign her to him personally, at this specific time? Why do we act now, specifically, instead of all the other times?" Despite her position amongst the deified elements, Tenebryll sounded frightened.
"Simply because there is no other choice. The usurper watched and watched, but now he moves, and so we must respond. His various adventures have provided us with a lot of entertainment, however, he cannot succeed alone."
The woman rose from her throne and quickly approached Tenebryll and took her into a hug.
"My child, are you sure you're alright to lead our forces."
"Yes, Mother. I promise none of them will know about this."
The woman shook her head as she stepped back. "No. Are you sure you're alright to hold the position, not out of your image, but of your self?"
"Yes, I'm fine, Mother."
"Good," she responded with a smile. "Go and prepare your warriors. They will be necessary if war breaks out. And remember my warning."
