"How are you fighting our enemies when you have the exact same power as them? As a matter of fact, how do you even have the power?"
Marcus stopped for a moment, thinking about how to answer. 'There's no use lying to him,' he thought. 'He'd just see right through that. And beside, he's trusting me with his secret, so I guess I should be able to trust him with mine. Since he already knows it, telling him could also be a sign of good will.'
"This is going to sound insane, let me just warn you of that," Marcus said. "But, I trust that what I am about to tell you will go no further than this conversation?"
"It will not. Unless I fear that you could cause serious harm to my people, at which point I will be required to inform the King. But that won't happen, will it?"
"It's not likely, no." Marcus took a deep breath before continuing. He wished that time could just stop in this moment, before he had to tell the Commander about his sanity defying mission.
