Chapter 20 - MEMORY LOSS

"Then can you tell me about the color of your fading form?" Brian couldn't hold back his curiosity about the strangeness in Sabina's body.

"Hmm, maybe because I touched you too much and too long. I think so," Sabina answered while pinching her chin and looking like someone was thinking.

"Are you not allowed to touch humans?" Brian was even more surprised when he heard Sabina's answer.

"I don't know, I'm not one hundred percent sure. In the past, I had helped Tata and supported her when she was sick. Then she saw my body change color so it seemed to fade. Just like your question the first time you saw me in this state."

"The more I touch Tata, the more my body color will fade. Then we concluded that I shouldn't be in contact with human skin."

Brian responded to Sabina's words with a bit of fear in his chest. Brian's heart was so tight imagining that.

'Why is it like this? What is this feeling? I do not know. All I know is, I just don't like seeing Sabina's body like this,' Brian said worriedly in his heart.

"So if you know you can't touch human skin, why are you touching me instead?"

Brian spoke a little emotionally. It felt like he wanted to be angry or rather Brian was afraid that his thoughts would come true. Yes, Brian was afraid that Sabina would disappear.

"If I don't touch you how can I help you? I don't want to see you freezing to death on the bathroom floor!" Sabina who was offended by Brian's rising tone also raised her voice.

'You're right. I should be thanking her instead of scolding her,' Brian immediately felt guilty.

Before Sabina went to turn around, Brian hastily stopped her.

"Sabina, I'm sorry! Don't be angry, please don't be angry!" Brian called out to Sabina, "I'm just afraid your body will disappear. I do not want to. Please do not be angry! Thank you too for helping me but I don't like it if the effect makes you like this."

"I'm sorry too. I shouldn't have yelled at you," Sabina also apologized.

"Never mind, I'm fine because of you. Don't make it a burden on your mind. It's just that I ask you, do not do anything reckless like before. You can do anything as long as you don't touch me," Brian asked softly.

Sabina nodded and smiled, "Okay. But I hope I don't want to come across that kind of situation again," she replied.

Finally, Brian can sleep peacefully tonight. After the incident, that night, Brian and Sabina's relationship grew closer like friends. They are also more relaxed joking around. Because now they have nothing to hide from each other.

Brian was a little grateful because the ghost of the woman in his room gave him a surprise. Maybe if Bryan hadn't fallen in the bathroom, Sabina wouldn't have told Brian about her life story like that.

While waiting for and how he will help Sabina, Brian continues to draw closer to Sabina.

Without realizing it, Brian has been living with Sabina for almost three months. Every day Brian's feelings, which initially only admired Sabina's figure, now turned into strong feelings. Yes, Brian loves Sabina, and as much as possible he just wants to always see a smile on Sabina's face.

In the last two months, Brian has only been busy with more and more work. Brian spends most of his time at home staring at his laptop after work. And Sabina also always helps Brian's work so that their daily topic is only about work problems.

Brian noticed Sabina who was very serious about helping him think about designing a new product that Brian had previously presented on the company board. Sabina looks so happy even though sometimes the smile recedes with something she thinks about.

'Until now, I haven't had the chance to carry out the intentions I have said in my heart to help you, Sabina. And it seems, your sadness about your complicated life is being diverted by the work I always bring home,'

Yes, at that time Cakradara Group Bandung collaborated with the Sailendra Group. In the end, after Brian and Mr. Jerry met, Mr. Jerry decided to work together after Brian discussed the idea he had designed.

Without saying that Brian's idea was the same as the one his daughter had mentioned before. Mr. Jerry wants Brian's project to be realized immediately.

And today, Brian again held a meeting with the leaders of the Sailendra Group for final planning before making the new product.

"Introducing, I am Steven, CEO of Sailendra Group. Nice to meet you. I have studied your work so far. Your idea is very brilliant at a young age like today. And I like fresh ideas like this," a handsome man who was probably the same age as Brian's first brother, greeted Brian in a friendly manner.

They discussed business matters smoothly and after they were finished, as usual, Mr. Jerry always brought Brian to his room to discuss casual chats outside of work.

Brian's eyes seemed to want to pop out when he saw the figure of a woman he knew very well in front of him.

"Sabina?"

This one word came out of the mouths of Mr. Jerry, Steven, and Brian when they saw the same figure in front of them. Brian immediately turned to Mr. Jerry and Steven and was also looking at Brian in surprise.

"You know Sabina?" Mr. Jerry asked Brian. But before Brian could answer, Steven's slightly snapping voice caught Brian and Mr. Jerry's attention.

"Sabina, what are you doing here? I sent you to check your health, didn't you? Did you run away again?" Steven asked the woman who looked like Sabina.

Brian saw the figure of Sabina walking half running and then clinging to Mr. Jerry's hand. It looked very spoiled and unreasonable in Brian's opinion.

"Papa, I don't want to go to the hospital anymore. I'm bored, Papa. Just let me come with you!" the woman said spoiled to Mr. Jerry.

Brian could see the frustrated look on Mr. Jerry's face which didn't answer the woman's whimper.

"Sabina, before my patience runs out, let's go back to the hospital! Or do you want to lock up again?" Steven repeated the warning.

'Mr. Steven calls her by the same name as Sabina at my house. What's going on here?' Brian wondered as he watched the woman's expression look like she was frightened by Steven's threat.

What was surprising was that the woman immediately removed her arms from Mr. Jerry's body.

"Dad, I'm going to take Sabina to the hospital first," said Steven goodbye to his father. Then Steven turned to Brian, "Brian, next time we'll talk again, okay! I have a little business. Don't forget to come to our house while you're on vacation!"

Brian nodded and agreed with Steven's words. A second later he saw Steven walk away while dragging the woman with the same name as Sabina forcibly.

'Why do Sabina's face, voice, and stature look exactly like Sabina? Even I can be sure that she is Sabina. But, impossible. Sabina is home and I have to ask Uncle Jerry about this!' Brian muttered under his breath.

Just as Brian was about to raise his voice to ask, Mr. Jerry had already started speaking.

"Brian, I'm sorry that you had to see such an uncomfortable situation. Steven is often unable to attend business meetings because of this."

"He has to look after his sister for regular check-ups. Like I told you before. My daughter is sick. Her memory was lost due to the impact of a car accident she had three years ago."

Brian's heart seemed to stop a few seconds after hearing Mr. Jerry's story.

Brian clenched his fists. His body shook and his breathing began to become erratic.

'What did Uncle Jerry just say? His daughter's accident three years ago? And that woman named Sabina who lost her memory? What nonsense is this, my God?'

Brian still didn't want to believe what was on his mind, but every sentence Mr. Jerry said pointed to what happened to Sabina.

Understandably, after Sabina told the story at that time, neither Brian nor Sabina continued the sad story anymore. Brian also didn't want to ask further because he didn't want to make Sabina sadder than that. He also hasn't been able to find a way to help Sabina, so Brian chooses to remain silent rather than giving Sabina a false hope that doesn't know when it will come.

"After the accident, Sabina forgot herself. She forgot her parents and older brother. And to make matters worse, Sabina's personality has also changed. She forgot all about herself before the accident happened," Mr. Jerry continued his story and managed to distract Brian from his thoughts.

"Sabina doesn't want to worship anymore. The clothes she was wearing were now more revealing, very different from the once polite and elegant Sabina. I didn't even recognize my daughter."

Mr. Jerry's face looks very gloomy when he tells about his daughter.
