*rumble*
The ceiling shook with anticipation.
Against a dimly lit counter leaned a hooded figure heaving with strained effort. Palms forced painfully against his face.
*rumble rumble*
The woodworks quaked in fear.
The figures labored breath seeped in and out as blood streamed down his cheeks, licking at the sweat and adrenaline.
He gently removed his palms. His eyes squeezed tight, while he attempted to stay on the countertop.
*rumble rumble rumble*
The angry hive of feet swarmed pounding overhead.
Voices shouted out in urgency, "FIND HIM! ... RIGHT TOWER CLEAR! ... CHECK THE BASEMENT ...FIND THE INTRUDER!"
*rumble rumble rumble rumble*
The feet roared in anger, thundering and rumbling like storm clouds. His pursuers were closing in fast.
Time had run out, it would be any moment now.
The man's head began to slowly face the single exit. The same entrance to the small room he used minutes before.
A sly white smile began to appear within the hood, which slowly turned into a smirked cackle.
With effort, he raised his hand towards the door.
"Luck don't fail me now," he rasped.
The impending sound of pursuit grew nearer and nearer. Thumping feet drew near.
*rattle rattle rattle*
The door handle quickly shook finding it locked..
They found him.
All that remained between him and his enemies was a deadbolt and wood.
*WHAM WHAM*
The door began to quake as the infiltrator slammed his body into it.
Just behind the door a voice sounded, "SUB-BASEMENT 3, I THINK I FOUND HIM."
He could hear others draw near from his cry for help.
*Crack*
The door frame began to Splinter with the additional bodies.
"I may not have won yet, but neither shall you," he spoke to no one in particular.
-Lucky Stars Activated-
Faint green veins glowed across his bloodied smiling cheeks. His innate ability that lead him this began to thrum.
*SNAP*
-Chronorbem Activated-
-Spatiumorbem Activated-
His fingers snapped. His eyes flew open. Two bright glowing orbs of blue and white glared at the door.
*THRUMMMM*
Energy whipped around the room as blue and white clashed together in a kaleidoscope of shapes.
"I shall see you another time, perhaps another space," he laughed out no one would get to hear.
His consciousness was fading fast as he slurred, "For your crimes against me and the world. I will be your Calamity."
He collapsed.
*Smack*
Head slammed on the table, as the body slumped down sliding onto the ground.
Silence.
Nothing stirred.
The fractured door lay still.
