He tried to hide the hurt that surged within him but couldn't completely mask the disappointment in his voice, "Oh, I see."
"Bunny Teng, it's nothing personal. He just wanted some help with a project," Zhou reached out and took Teng's hand in his, "I will make it up to you, I promise."
Teng smiled weakly, squeezing Zhou's hand in return, "Okay, I understand. Just don't forget me too much while you're helping him."
"I could never forget you," Zhou smiled at him.

They returned to their breakfast, but Teng couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss. Zhou had always been open with him, and this sudden secrecy left a lingering unease in the air.
As the day wore on, Teng couldn't shake a nagging feeling. He'd noticed something different in Zhou lately, something that gnawed at him, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
