Mana surged from his Core, building like a tidal wave that screamed to be released. Zero knew if held any longer, he would be lucky to only have broken Mana Channels. Willing the Mana to form the shape in his mind, the black mist rolled out of his arm before forming a wall between his entire body and the attack. The wall-shaped mist condensed before forming a circle that was the size of a tire.
Shifting in the time it took the creature's attack to connect with Zero, the black mist hardened until it no longer resembled black roiling mist, but a two-inch thick round obsidian shield. The object connected with Zero's new shield before blasting him up and off his feet, throwing him clear into the middle of the road.
Zero wheezed, the impact from whatever had just hit him partially absorbed into the obsidian shield. Quickly getting to his feet Zero eyed the front of the shield, finding a chunk had been taken out of it. A black mist that Zero knew was Mana slowly steamed from the edges of the creator. 'Condensed Mana.' It wasn't the first time he had tried it out, however, it was the first time the shield had been hit hard enough to sustain damage.
Eyeing the doorway for another attack, he found none came. Thinking about the similarities, he noticed one common between all the attacks. 'Sound?' getting an idea, Zero looked down at his feet before slowly crouching and picking a rock up from the ground. Bracing himself, he threw the rock to the base of the door's stairs. A blur followed the sound, Zero watched as it wasn't heading for the rock but instead for himself.
Turning to the side as he willed
As the tentacle made contact with the obsidian shield, Zero turned to the right, deflecting the muscular appendage away from him. Although he had successfully deflected the attack, Zero felt pain lance up his left arm and shoulder, a testament to the strength of the creature. 'It's targeting me even though I threw the stone over five feet away. Not to mention it hit the exact spot as last time.'
Zero could now see through his shield, as half a fist-sized hole fell from the shield. Without delay, Zero turned on his heel, dropping the shield, and sprinting away from the house and his attacker. Zero didn't deactivate
Zero quickened his pace with a mental push, his muscles aching in protest at the speed. Zero made it within five blocks of the school before something punched into his shoulder, sending him sprawling onto the concrete street. Spinning as he fell, Zero turned to face the creature causing him trouble, only to find the muscular tentacle retreat another foot before vanishing. 'It's invisible?!'
Guessing where it would be at that moment, Zero threw out his hand while willing a whip to swipe across the entire road at waist level. The whip passed harmlessly through the air until it connected with something off to the right of the street, a liquid splashing to the ground in the light of the moon's glow. Back hitting the ground, Zero came to a sliding stop just as he raised his next finger and fired a
The beam punched into the invisible creature, gore exploding in every direction. A screech exploded into the air, causing Zero to wince from the shear volume. The screeching continued even as Zero stood from his laying position, watching as a figure more then seven feet tall was thrashing about In-front of him. The blood that had come from hitting the creature covered it and made it slightly visible, outlined for Zero to see.
Without giving the creature time to attack, Zero once more aimed and fired a
"Cutting it a bit close are we?" Zero opened his eyes and tilted his head back, looking behind him at a figure now standing in the middle of the road. Keeping his eyes on the man glad in a t-shirt and baggy sweet pants, Zero spoke without moving. "Those souls are mine. don't even think about it." The man let out a quick laugh and spoke without moving.
"Don't worry kid. I wouldn't anger someone with your power for a couple simple souls. Not to mention we from the same group." Zero let out a soft sigh before slowly getting to his feet. Although he had multiple bruises and atleast a couple broken ribs, Zero wasn't in need of immediate healing and there for didn't try to bribe the window to heal early. Instead he slowly walked over to the souls which had taken the form of a slight human and had started to slowly walk away from the now dead Croygel.

Zero figured this man or someone else near him had purchased something from his shop and the Window had waited for his fight to conclude before telling him.
