Chapter 74 - Qwulvis Conqueror

Zero set his bag down next to his other two, which the sludge must have moved into this room for him. "Can you clear an area for me to lay?" The woman looked confused but nodded. The sludge around Zero's feet parted to reveal concrete ground as she nodded. "I'm going to take a break to absorb these Tokens. Know that if you kill me, I won't forgive you." Without waiting for a response, Zero reached into the Window he willed to appear before taking out all of the tokens he had received.

Zero laid down and activated each of his tokens without waiting before instantly passing out from the pain. Zero awoke, his body feeling cool and relaxed. "You have awoken." Zero's attention was drawn toward a figure standing directly over him. The figure had no clothes on and was completely reflective green. Zero looked at the Dungeon's leg, finding it looked like a chunk of hard green glass. "You hardened your entire body." The woman nodded before speaking, all the while standing over him.

"Although it took time to create, the potential price is worth it if we are to continue to communicate." Zero didn't miss the meaning of her words as he stood, feeling his new muscles out. "Are the multiple individuals still here?" The woman shook her head as she spoke. "They left after two hours passed." Zero nodded before walking towards the door. "I will be leaving now. It may take a while to get you your souls. I expect compensation for them when I do."

Zero didn't turn around even as the women agreed, walking out into the open air. 'The mother should have collected enough souls.' Zero started sprinting towards the mall, making sure to look out for a sniper glint. Although he had taken the sniper from the man, he didn't want to die due to stupidity. Zero arrived in Front of the Mother, only to find it was twitching on the ground.

'It's not dead, but it nearly is.' Zero watched as the large creature started to shimmy itself back to its feet, only for multiple figures to start rapidly circling it. Zero focused on one of the figures, finding it was made entirely out of bones. 'A creature made of bones fighting at the mall...Gem.' Zero looked around, trying to find any hint that the bone creatures were the result of Gem.

After looking for less than a minute, Zero found four people standing atop a four-story building. And although the sun was casting a shadow over their features, he knew it was them. Zero knew by the obvious outline of Jacob, who was a complete 180 from the figure on the far left. Zero's attention was drawn back to the skeletons as they started leaping onto the mother before shoving their arms down into it.

The mother let out an ear-piercing scream before going silent. Zero thought about rushing in, only to notice the ground start lightly shaking. The shaking started getting more and more intense until finally, it felt like an earthquake was happening before a sudden, loud crashing sounded behind him. Zero's head whipped around to find a cloud of debris settling, and what he could only describe as an overly muscular Qwulvis mother.

'Window, what is that creature?'

'Window, what is the information on the creature?'

Zero closed the Windows and was about to move away from the road when he suddenly felt pressure slam onto his shoulders. He instantly knew it wasn't physical, however, it was enough to lock him in place. "Curious." Zero flinched as the voice suddenly sounded in his head, the volume loud enough to cause him more pain than the Upgrade Tokens.

Zero tried turning his neck, only for the pressure to not allow him to budge an inch. Zero activated , only for him to still not be able to move. "Parlor tricks will do nothing for you." Zero slammed into the ground, the pressure enough to cause his bones to ack.

Just when Zero thought his Ultimate would activate, his vision briefly went completely white. Zero's vision returned, and the pressure went as well. Without wasting time, he stood to his feet and looked towards the four to find they were also rising to their feet. Zero figured was still active as everything was moving in slow motion around him as he turned towards the Qwulvis Conqueror.

The creature was pushing itself up, the tension in its muscles visible even from Zero's distance. Without wasting time, Zero rushed toward the conqueror. As he arrived in front of the creature, Zero lifted his finger so it rested against the top of its head. Zero canceled before firing a beam from his finger. The creature exploded before its remains fell to the ground around Zero.

Zero turned while also waiting to see if souls would appear. As he thought, he didn't see a single soul rise from the body. Zero shook his head as he lifted his hood up and over it. 'What a waste.' Zero felt a chill run down his spine causing him to look over at the four individuals. Even with the shadows covering their faces, Zero knew they were watching him.

"SKREEEEEE!!!" Zero's attention was drawn towards the Qwulvis mother, the creature's eye bulging in the direction of Zero.
