Chapter 71 - Utility Dagger

Zero moved out of the building before looking around the area. After a moment, Zero watched as a single Goblin walked through the street. Without pause, Zero willed to activate. The wind was suddenly knocked out of him as he lurched forward a foot. Taking a moment to regain his breath, Zero tried once again. Once more, he lurched forward a foot before coming to a stop.

'So buying the ability shows me how to activate it, however, it must also etch the method itself into my body. It would make sense, as this way someone couldn't simply recreate it once they bought it.' With a determined sigh, Zero willing to activate before quickly closing his eyes and looking at his Mana Channels. Zero watched as all of his Channels started violently shaking before what Zero could only describe as atomizing.

Zero kept his eyes closed through the cast, so he watched as black flooded all of his Channels from the orb before it traveled out of his body. Zero was confused before he noticed the black didn't fully leave his body, but rather it fused with everything around him. What he wasn't expecting, was that all his Mana Channels suddenly moved like dominos. The Channels closer to the direction he was heading moved first, only the Channels broke apart into minuscule parts before moving.

Zero felt himself lurch forward, however, he stayed focused on his body, finding the Channels pieced themself back together moments before he felt himself lurch forward. 'So the ability moves my entire body in the form of particles towards a specific target. And the flooding of my Channels must be the key to the ability. The only problem is why it doesn't simply continue forward but rather stops a foot in front of me.'

Zero continued to experiment with the ability, fine-tuning the information with each cast.

(In an endless white room)

Fykin knew he had been connected with Zero on a deeper level than he suspected the System even knew. This allowed him to hear Zero's thoughts, and it was also why he was able to do multiple other things. Fykin watched as Zero tried multiple times to recreate the ability before he finally did it. Fykin instantly realized that Zero was more intelligent than he previously thought.

Fykin had had no interest when he first realized he was trapped in this endless white room. At first, Fykin wanted to simply help the boy not get himself permanently killed. However, after finding out that as Zero grew stronger, so did he, his will to live was suddenly reignited. 'I have already helped you enough.'

Fykin sighed as he looked at a Window, which showed him the message he had received from the keeper of time. 'You have caught the attention of someone rather important. Let's hope this doesn't backfire.' Fykin thought about telling Zero that he should be careful of , however, he knew he had exhausted his power by making it so he could send Sponsor messages to him.

As he simply watched Zero through the singular Window, he was also slowly but surely searching the blank white room he had been imprisoned in, trying to find any indication of where they were or any weaknesses.

(Planet 4391.43)

Zero deactivated the Seeker Beam, a Goblin's corpse falling to the ground dead as he did.

Host has created their own ability! Due to the Host being the first on its Planet to create an ability, the Host will be awarded a prize.

-Notice-

Host has been given <2> Token, <2> Token. <1> Token.

Zero looked at the weapon token he had just received in confusion. Deciding there was no better way to find out about it, he reached into the Window before taking out the token. Without pause, Zero willed the Token to be used, only for another Window to appear. The Window had two rows, each row having multiple outlines of different weapons. 'It's allowing me to decide my own weapon?'

Zero scrolled through the outlines, finding there were hundreds of different ones he could pick from. Confused by some of the outlines, he wondered what they were. As soon as he thought about what one of them was, the outline would expand and tell him the basic knowledge about the weapon. After checking multiple of them, he suddenly came across the outline of guns.

This surprised Zero, as he hadn't expected the System to be selling modern-day weapons. Although it was tempting to pick one of the guns, he didn't know if they would need specific requirements to use, as it would be a Lowest Grade gun instead of the normal Trash grade. Deciding what he wanted, Zero clicked on one, and a different window appeared.

-Notice-

Host has chosen (Utility Dagger)

Zero knew there were probably better weapons to pick, however, he was more familiar with the dagger, not to mention the details of the outline said the dagger would have a special utility built into it. Zero closed his eyes as the Token started shining brightly, before opening them. Zero looked down at the dagger in his hand. The blade was around five inches long, and at the end of it were two curves on either side. 'Window, identify this item. Take the 3020 souls.'

-Notice-

Zero looked at the dagger before touching the button on the bottom of its hilt, a metal O suddenly appeared, the O being two inches in diameter. Zero looked at the dagger with satisfaction before turning, only to lock eyes with a Goblin standing 20 feet away.
