Caroline Edwin nocked the arrow, drew the bow, and pulled the string, a series of motions as smooth as flowing water, as if she had already practiced them hundreds of times, which would have been anyone's guess had it not been for the fact that the arrow she had just shot was her first.
Her sharp gaze aimed at the bullseye.
"Swish—"
An arrow shot out, hitting the bullseye right in the center.
"Ten rings!"
A loud and powerful voice from the coach announced the score nearby, the voice raising in pitch, surprised and impressed by the result.
Other students nearby stopped what they were doing, fixing their serious and focused gaze on her.
With so many eyes watching her, Caroline didn't feel nervous; her tongue licked over her dry lower lip, and she tucked her loose hair behind her ear.
She pulled out the last arrow and nocked it.
"Swish!"
The arrow flew unstoppable through the air with a force like splitting bamboo, heading straight for the bullseye.
