The hint of sarcasm in Caroline Edwin's eyes vanished quickly. She pretended to be ignorant, her expression indifferent, "Aunt Gilbert, what's the matter?"
The wildness she often displayed was well concealed, not overly aggressive.
Though her attitude seemed a bit cold, her pretty face was hard not to be jealous of.
Aunt Gilbert covered her mouth and coughed a few times. She put the handkerchief she held in her hand down, her face sullen, she sighed heavily with a look of extreme worry on her face.
She looked anxious and began nervously fumbling with her clothing, "My... my health hasn't been very good, but we're struggling financially. I don't have much money to go to the hospital, and since he's a doctor... I was hoping he could examine me..."
Her voice got quieter as she continued speaking, she lowered her head in shame, a sense of sorrow coming off her.
"Fool, you thought they are like those naive children you used to fool around so easily?"
