The voice of the front desk staff came through the phone, "Miss Edwin, there's a couple in the lobby who want to see you."
Since the two didn't have a room card or any information to prove their acquaintance, the staff didn't dare to let them up without authorization, fearing any accidents.
Caroline picked up her cell phone and checked the date; four days had passed since her conversation with Emma Wood. "Mmm, I know these two. Let them come up."
After hanging up, she returned to her seat to continue eating her crayfish. She disposed of the shrimp shells on the table by throwing them in the trash, tied up the garbage bag, and pressed the call button for the cleaning lady to take it away.
About ten minutes later, there was a knock at the door. The front desk staff led the visitors to the door, greeted them, and then left respectfully.
"Miss Edwin…"
Martin Harriman held Emma Wood, whose body was icy cold and her face pale, in his arms as he looked at Caroline with great concern.
