Jake looked around him, then thought of his single mother with three kids, him included. He finally decided that he wasn't going to leave his family only to risk his life in another world, even if he sought adventure so badly. He pressed on 'No'.

Suddenly, A portal opened in front of him, coming out of it was a shady figure that was a bit disappointed, "What do you mean no? I'm the one who makes decisions here, and for the sake of the viewers, you're going to go to the world, whether you like it or not" The figure said.

Jake was dumbfounded, Flabbergasted, Viewers? Does he live in a book or something? But he didn't have time to reply, as soon after, He was knocked out.

Waking up, Jake found himself in a forest, thing is, the forest was devoid of life. Everything in the forest was withered, The trees, flowers, animals, Jake almost threw up when he saw a dead fox family laying in front of him. Suddenly, a long panel in front of him appeared, and a keyboard and mouse as well suddenly appeared in front of Jake.

Jake was confused then figured out it was character customization. After taking a few deep breaths, He clicked on Swordsman, where it revealed 3 sub-classes, Swordsman, Bladesman, Longswordsman. Jake chose Swordsman. After that, he clicked on Demi-god, which then he was presented with an error, saying Demi-god is locked until level 800. He knew that since Demi-god was locked, so was celestial, so he went with human. For the name, Jake looked at the keyboard before thinking about countless cool names until he chose a perfect one, "Diablo Eriath", Jake was happy with this name, if he becomes a being that would make people shiver just by hearing the name, It would be a very fitting name.

People were everywhere and the streets were busy, It looked medieval but a bit more advanced, though they had no technology. While in the middle of the city was an enormous building made of wood. Jake entered inside the building to find a bar with people in it, The weird thing was that all of these people had some kind of weapon on them, And most of them wore a thug kind of look on their faces.

Jake ignored them and made his way to the middle of the bar to find a young man sitting on a chair, smiling. "What is this place?" Jake Asked, To which the man replied, "This is the Adventurer Guild where you can become an Adventurer".

Jake Immediately understood what an Adventurer was and quickly classified them into 8 Ranks, F, E, D, C, B, A, S, SS. He then signed up and took a quick quest to kill some wolves that were hunting a village. He left the bar and headed into a forest.

'While they are most probably weak since they're classified F-Rank, I think I should train my swordsmanship a bit, just to not needlessly take injuries.' Jake Thought.

He quickly stopped in his steps then opened his panel and clicked [Inventory], where he took out the wooden sword and started training. He didn't really know how to train, so he just started swinging with his sword down again and again and again, as that's how most characters train.

Jake closed his eyes to enhance his hearing in case anything comes nearby, or if there was distant screaming, Then exhaled deeply and started training his swordsmanship while listening to the ambient sounds of the forest, which were quite refreshing, since it was still morning, Birds were chirping and rivers were flowing.

Suddenly, Jake heard the screaming of an animal in the direction of the river, He immediately stopped his training and rushed in the direction of the sound to find a drowning baby wolf. 'How ironic, Fate' Jake thought, he needed to kill some wolves but now he needs to rescue one from drowning.

Jake took off his shirt before admiring his fit body for a quick second then jumped into the river and pushed the baby wolf out of the river, but the baby wolf kicked with its hind legs causing Jake to get shot deeper into the river. Before blacking out, he smiled and thought, 'Well, That baby is quite powerful'.
