Days passed by without any further incident. Both of Yoru's mothers tried to baby him more since the day they found him passed out.
Fortunately, he was healthy as ever, so he could go to school starting today.
The air was a bit cold in the morning, so Yoru had to put on his jacket over his standard uniform. He locked the front door, and went straight to the bus stop.
"Anytime now…" Not a minute after he said that, a school bus landed in front of him. If one dropped the self-navigating flying bus in the year two thousands, it would be a technological marvel. But now, in the year 2121, It was a relic of 30 years old.
The yellow school bus opened its door, and Yoru immediately sat on the only seat left, the one beside his class rep, Nespe Phoer. She looked up from her book, and said "Morning!"
Yoru smiled when he looked at the title of the book.
"Good Morning, Nes. Still reading that one?"
Nes, already continued reading, nodded. She was a quiet girl, not because of choice, but because of her unnatural beauty. Many thought of her as out of their reach, and thus didn't have the guts to talk to her.
Yoru, of course, was an exception to the rule. Being the most normal (read: boring) guy in the class gave Yoru the privilege of not being looked at as someone who belongs to the other end of the spectrum. He could mingle with the popular kids as well as with the outcasts.
Nespe approached him because of that 'special' ability. While she was technically an outcast herself due to her good looks, she wasn't able to mix with them at all. The one time she tried was when they were talking about their new favorite book with Yoru. She chimed in, only to be greeted by total silence. Well, until he opened his mouth, that is. Yoru 'saved' her, by responding before things turned awkward.
Since then, they had been the strange pair who couldn't be said to be close friends, but definitely more than mere classmates.
"Have you reached chapter eight yet, Nes?" Yoru quietly asked her.
Nes shook her head. "No, not yet. I'll tell you when I do."
Yoru laughed, "Please do. I'd love to hear your opinion about it."
The rest of the flight was as quiet to the two as their surroundings. All the students of Silicon Peak Valley had mastered the sleeping exercise that the school taught them.
It was introduced by an Indochina's guru called Si Kong Huan to help students with more than eight hours of classes. It was proven effective, and was immediately set as a part of the curriculum.
Yoru himself used it sporadically, not really having trouble with sleep most of the time. He could do none of the exercise, and fell asleep on a couch after he just woke up an hour before. If this was the fanfiction world, Yoru would be like that lustful detective who slept with the culprits of his cases, instead of the original he was based on.

When the bus arrived, it was just ten minutes to seven in the morning. The students inside burst out of the bus, hurry could be seen on their steps. Yoru and Nespe waited for all the others before they also went out.
"Is Ms. Motozuma coming back today?." Yoru asked Nes.
She flipped another page of her book, before answering, "I don't know. You know how they are with the teachers at this school."
Nes placed a bookmark between the pages she was reading, and put the book away.
"I guess, but figured I asked you first, if anyone knows about this stuff, it would be you."
"That doesn't make me happy at all!" Although she said that, a corner of her lips twitched upwards, telling Yoru her true feelings.
Yoru chuckled, "Well, we better hurry up if we don't want to be late."

In class X-D, all the students were already on their own table, waiting for the first teacher of the day to arrive.
Yoru's seat was in the center of the classroom, right behind Nes's seat. The clock was ticking, and when it reached the number seven, the door to the classroom opened. A beautiful female teacher entered, and all of the male students couldn't help but sit straight like a ramrod.
No matter how many times Yoru was in Ms. Motozuma's class, he never got used to her presence. Not because of her blonde hair, despite her being of Yamato descent, or that she was very tall for a woman at six foot even; But because she had to have the most outrageous body line one could ever see in their life. If Yoru wasn't raised by his two mothers, he would definitely behaved like the guys in the classroom. That's right, Ms. Motozuma Kagurin was the very definition of a blonde bombshell!
Nes looked over her shoulder, and nodded in satisfaction when she saw him not making a fool of himself. She returned to her position, and Yoru sighed in relief.
'If she was faster by a second, I'll be done!'
Right then, unexpectedly, Ms. Motozuma's gaze stopped at Yoru, before she blinked in surprise. She held her gaze for a few moments, before finally starting her class.
"Good morning kids! Today, we'll be appreciating another classic poem by the greatest poet on Terra, Teacher Zhang! The poem's title is Black Water…"
Poetry was never Yoru's strong point, despite his massive appreciation to the literary world. He powered through the lesson, when he noticed Ms. Motozuma's gaze came back to him every now and then. He wondered what's wrong for a second, before he realized one thing that's different about him than before. It was definitely the Power Stone!
'Did she know about the stone? But how? Never mind the fact that it was inside my palm, I can't even sense the damn thing! So how did she do it? Some sort of device? She was not carrying anything… Unless!... Did she have the device implanted inside her breasts!?"

A/N: This one went through 18 different versions. Writing Original Novel Is Hard As I Expected! And no, that was not the title of the next chapter of my fanfiction Kogoro Mouri - Private Eye. Big thanks to my first patron, dragon_knight240.
