Mina
i woke up late, i run to the bus station luckily I arrived before the bus left. the bus was so full but unfortunately I have no choice but to be stuck among human bodies.
I arrived at the company, I'm so nervous but so happy to have a job that pays so well just for my skills on video games. Yes, i am a geek.
I did a lot of small jobs to support my sick father and me until the day I saw an online ad from a company where they were recruiting a gamer to develop their new game. i found it strange at first but after seeing the salary I jumped on it, they made me take tests and I had to be strong on several games and prove that I knew what I was doing by winning against several participants in 1vs1. And i did it!
Now here i am for my interview for officially becoming a worker at E.Rainbow company (If I don't mess it up and they change their mind...).
I go to the reception, a young lady stands there, she looks at me and gives me a smile. "Can I help you?"
"yes, I have a job interview at 7:30 a.m., my name is Mina Lopez"
"A minute please... yes, i see your name your appointment is on the 9th floor, take the elevator, Mr. Sato is waiting for you in his office".
"thank you"
i go take the elevator, there a few people with me who looks at me out of the corner of their eye when they see me press number 9 on the elevator.
I get out of the elevator when I arrive and walk towards the first person I see, a man who sees me coming. "hello are you miss Lopez?"
"Yes it's me"
"Very well, I'm Dan smith Mr. Sato's assistant, I'm taking you to his office, he's waiting for you."
"ok thank you"
"follow me please"
I follow him at the end of the corridor.
we arrive in front of a large door, mr smith knocks on the door, we hear a "enter". he opens the door and enters first then gestures for me to enter as well. I walk into the extremely spacious and beautiful room with a living room. Mr. Smith motions for me to follow him to the right of the room where there is a desk with someone sitting in a large chair facing the bay window.
"Mr. Sato, I present to you Miss Mina Lopez our new recruit who passed the tournament."
I'm so nervous i feel sweat running down my face.
The ceo turns to me, when our eyes meet we are both shocked. There is a moment of silence where no one speaks and we remain shocked in our places eyes locked on each other. I hear mr smith cough. "Miss Lopez I present to you our CEO Mr Sato, he personally watched your performance in the last stage of the tournament, he was very impressed by you"
Still, neither of us speaks. "something is wrong?" i am the first to realize that mr smith is talking and decides to speak.
"Hello mr Sato i'm Mina Lopez, i am excited to work in your company"
Again, an awkward silence. Aden still looks at me with surprise in his eyes.
"Mr. Sato? is everything alright?" Mr smith ask.
I raise my eyebrows and give Aden a shy smile, it seems to succeed in bringing him back to the real world.
"Uh...yeah everything fine, nice to meet you uh...miss...Lopez."
"Likewise mr. Sato"
"Dan, go prepare the contract"
"uh...yes Mr.Sato but we haven't yet discussed with Miss Lopez the details of her role in the company..."
"I will discuss the details with miss Lopez, now leave us"
"Understood mr. Sato" with that, mr. Smith leaves us both, neither of us talks. I don't know what to do, I have to say something to break this awkward moment. "hum... it's been a long time Aden, how are you, look like you've achieved your dream, I'm happy for you"
Aden doesn't answer me, I'm starting to get nervous because of his reaction. what is he thinking looking down on is desk. suddenly, in a whisper he says "I can't believe you're here in front of me" After that he looks up, looks at me with emotion is said louder "You're finally here" He starts walking around his desk to take me in his arms. "I missed you my rainbow" He holds me tight in his arms and I feel my tears rising because I also miss him...
