Chapter 12 - CHAPTER 6 PART II

On the other side, with a backpack on her shoulders and a fishing rod in hand, Su Han managed to run away with great difficulty.

Beside her, old He was hugging many things and even holding a metal bucket in his hand.

"Why didn't you bring a backpack?" Su Han immediately helped him take the bucket.

Old He had an especially innocent expression, "Back then I didn't need the backpack."

He felt that just lifting the bucket was a waste of energy.

Su Han didn't know what to say.

"What's your name? Where do you live? Are you still coming here tomorrow?" Old He stared at her in anticipation.

Su Han answered with. a tinge of worry in her voice, "My name is Su Han, I don't have a place to stay at yet."

Old He instantly grew spirited. "What about staying the night at my home? And then tomorrow the both of us go fishing together?"

Even though it was mainly Su Han focusing on fishing and was responsible for exchanging well, that was still cooperating on something.

The offer moved Su Han. However, she still asked politely, "Is it going to be inconvenient?"

"Not at all, there's a spare room at home, it'd be empty no matter whether or not you stay there." Old He was very enthusiastic, "Plus, I haven't even gotten to thank you yet. I was only able to exchange all these things with your help."

As for inviting an enemy into the house, whatever, old He wasn't worried about that because this was a lady, not to mention a skilled one. He honestly felt that she was much richer than he was, and the one worrying should be her.

"Alright, I'll have to disturb you then." Su Han thought, finding a place to stay had got to be better than having to worry about her safety even in her dreams. Old He hoped to continue fishing together the next day, so there was no reason for him to harm her.

As he'd gotten reminded of it before, old He chose a remote alleyway for them to walk in. That was the reason they didn't meet a single person the whole way home.

"Old wifey, come out and help, we've got a guest." Old He shouted the moment he went into the house.

Mdm Jiang had doubts in her heart. Were they going to receive guests with the current state of their house? The older man couldn't possibly have gone crazy, right?!

Hurrying outside to take a look, Madam Jiang's eyes instantly widened, "Grain, tofu, fish, shampoo, old man, did you go rob someone?"

It was obvious she was clear how her husband's fishing skills were like.

"What are you taking about? Come and help me move them, quick." Old He laughed awkwardly.

"Why's the tofu crushed?" Mdm Jiang's heart couldn't help hurting for it.

Old He looked up at the sky. "It's already good enough that I'm able to bring it back home, who cares if it's whole or not."

The two of them bickered as they quickly placed the goods down.

"Hey, what are you standing there for? Take a seat." Old He called out.

Su Han thanked him before finding a chair to sit on. The moment she looked up, she found a little girl around 6 or 7 years old peeking out from one of the bedrooms.

"Child, come here quick, there's fish on our menu today." Old He grinned.

Fish? The little girl's eyes lit up as she immediately started drooling.

"Old man, come and help." Mdm Jiang suddenly said.

Old He froze for a moment before entering the kitchen.

Even though they took care to lower their voices, as Su Han had great hearing, she could still hear their conversation.

Mdm Jiang said, "I went to the vegetable market today to pick rotten vegetables, but we absolutely cannot give those to the guest. But, without vegetables, what else can I use to make the meal?"

Old He said, "Use tofu to make soup of course. We can also cook some rice."

"Rice?" Madam Jiang was slightly hesitant. "If we use those grains to make porridge, we can drink it for a few days."

"Without her, where'd the grain for your porridge be?" Old He was slightly unhappy.

"True." Mdm Jiang sighed.

There was no more sound of conversation after that coming out from the kitchen.

Su Han pretended not to know. She turned around and started playing with the little girl, "Where's your mom and dad?"

"They went overseas to work." The little girl was very softly-spoken.

"Do you like milk?" Su Han started to dig through her bag while saying that.

Fired refractory material…

"I do, but I can't take it." The little girl had an expression that said she wanted it but resisted the urge with all her might.

"It's okay, I'll give it to you."

Su Han was going to stuff it to the little girl when suddenly, the latter dashed back to her bedroom and insisted, "Grandpa said that I can't just take someone else's things."

Su Han paused. Able to get the child to turn out like that, this family can't be bad people.

Soon, dinner was made.

"Come and eat dinner." Madam Jiang called out.

"Don't be polite, have some fish." Old He also encouraged.

Su Han smiled, filling half her bowl with rice, and then poured some fish soup as well as two pieces of tofu into her bowl before saying, "You guys can just dig in, ignore me. I ate too much bread in the afternoon and am still bloated right now."

Old He and Madam Jiang exchanged a glance. They instantly understood.

Su Han continued talking about the fishing tomorrow. "Are there any other fishing spots? I'm afraid that it might not be too convenient to go to the park today."

"There are there are, I'll bring you there tomorrow." Old He promised, patting his chest. "I know of a place with very few people fishing there. There are usually very few people passing by that place too."

After the incident today, he completely understands why one shouldn't reveal their wealth to others.

"Great." Su Han smiled in satisfaction.
