The coldness ran deep in a house with no one but a frail-looking child beneath the staircase, hidden away left to starve and eventually die.
That is what the people who left the poor child alone thought, but as fate would have it a miracle happened inside the child that would forever change his view on life.
In the moment of abandonment, in the house filled with darkness. There was a faint light the child sought out to get. He followed it until he reached a torn-up stuff toy and the child smiled as he picked up the toy that was betrayed and abandoned like him.
To everyone else, the toy seemed like a broken and dirty thing in the past but the boy saw it differently from everyone else. It was filled and glowing with life as so everything around him.
He created an entirely new point of view, one where negativity has no room, one where darkness was the one nowhere to be found, one where everyone has a light inside them that only he could see.
He found himself a way out and was eventually adopted by an elderly couple who was nice enough to take in the starving child. They found it in their hearts to love the sweet innocent child like it was their own, raised him to be a gentleman, and as the years pass reality hit hard to the newly turned teenage boy as both his parents die of old age.
Upon their grave, he could only see nothing but darkness.
