Another year passed, and I was pregnant with you, Daniel. Your father was overjoyed, awaiting your arrival. But on the day of my labor, he received devastating news from the other Incarnates: they planned to strike down Belzebub that very day. Despite his pleas to change their minds, they were resolute. As their strongest warrior and the chosen one to destroy Belzebub, he had no choice but to follow them. He left, promising to return by the time I delivered. He returned as promised, but unknown to me, he was no longer my husband.
You were born with a rare rhesus blood defect, requiring an immediate blood transfusion. Your father was the obvious choice, but I should have noticed his hesitation. Once you were out of danger, we left the hospital, and I began to notice his strange behavior. He twitched anytime I asked him to do simple tasks, especially when holding you. One night, I demanded to know what was wrong, and he screamed, falling from the bed. "Stay away, woman! Enough is enough! I will tell you the truth. I am not your husband. That idiot trapped me in his body, made me a servant to mortals with the Grace of God, and left me under the eternal bondage of mortality."
I grabbed him by the collar, screaming, "What did you do to my husband?! Tell me, demon!" He reluctantly began to narrate what happened on that fateful day. Samson and the Incarnates successfully neutralized Belzebub, but he discovered their plan and counterattacked.
He informed the Incarnates that his demons would kill everyone they held dear, including Samson's wife and child. Samson, driven by love and concern, beat Belzebub to call off the demons. Belzebub, realizing Samson's strength, finally budged, and the demon assassin assigned to kill us was recalled.
Once Samson knew we were safe, he handed Belzebub back to the Incarnates. But Belzebub, bruised and plotting revenge, commanded every demon to come after the Incarnates, with Samson as their main target. The Incarnates were overwhelmed, and Samson was left standing alone. Belzebub captured Delilah, threatening to slit her throat if Samson didn't surrender. Delilah screamed for him to continue fighting, knowing Belzebub would kill her anyway. But Samson, to her surprise, surrendered.
Samson, invincible and immune to earthly weapons, was a formidable force. But Belzebub, determined to defeat him, thought cutting Samson's hair would weaken him but he discovered that,Samson's hair was now uncuttable, making him virtually indestructible.
Enraged and desperate, Belzebub was shocked when Samson proposed a deal: in exchange for sparing Delilah and protecting his family, he would allow Belzebub to possess his invulnerable body. Belzebub, thinking he could later renege on the deal, eagerly agreed.
As Belzebub took over Samson's body, he was horrified to find himself turning on his own demons, slaying them all until only Delilah remained. Realizing Samson's sacrifice, Delilah seized her chance at a new life and fled with Belzebub's car, leaving him helpless to stop her.
Forced to masquerade as Samson, Belzebub was trapped in a body that seemed to have a mind of its own. I, Magdalene Forge, refused to raise my son, Danny, around this monstrous imposter, so I fled with you in my arms, determined to keep you safe. That was supposed to be the end of our encounter with Belzebub. But fate had other plans.
When you turned 10, you began displaying strange superhuman abilities - quick healing and an uncanny focus on minute details. At first, I thought it was your father's abilities manifesting in you, but on the night of your raging fever, you revealed the shocking truth: you had inherited Belzebub's powers.
On that day, you likely thought you were speaking gibberish, but I recognized that strange language from a mile away. I knew only one person who understood that language - Belzebub.
I called him, and the moment he picked up, I got straight to the point: "What have you done to my son? He's having a burning hot fever, literally, and he's speaking your demon language." Belzebub replied, "Don't blame me, woman; blame your husband, who forced me to give my sacred blood to your mortal son. He's my blood now, and you and I can do nothing to change that. Take the phone to him and let me see what he's saying."
I was reluctant, but I took the phone close to you so that he could hear your strange utterances. The moment I put the phone back on my ear and asked what you were saying, Belzebub panicked and said, "He has my ability to sense the coming of a supernatural being. The fever is just a symptom. The one who is coming for him is the real threat."
I asked furiously,
"Who dares come after my son? I thought you told me that you barred your agents from looking for us." Belzebub replied, "I did as I promised, but the threat is not a demon. Your son says Death is coming for him."
I almost dropped the phone as Belzebub continued, "It seems that Sam's old boss wants to pay you a visit. Azrael is coming, and I suggest you run."
My heart raced with fear as I realized that the Angel of Death himself was coming for you, Daniel. I knew we had to flee, and fast, to keep you safe from his wrath.
