I constantly checked my phone during our hearing with Ezra as we explained to him why we had to leave so hurriedly. I had sent Lucy a text that said 'Can I come and see you quickly? It's an emergency.'
It showed me she had read it but had not yet responded. I bounced my knee as I slipped my phone back into my suit's blazer to focus on the meeting.
Adonis's eyes met my own when I looked back up. He jutted his bottom lip out then tilted his head to the side in a questioning yet caring manner. I gave him a small smile and tried to convey with my eyes that I would tell him later. He subtly nodded before we looked at Joe was showed us pictures on the large screen.
"During our raid in France we found more coordinates of other possible bases Atlas, Anika and Benjamin controlled," he explained as he swiped the screen to show us another picture of a base just off the sea.
