I held Adonis's hand tightly as him and I looked at the screen of the ultrasound. Lucy pressed the transducer on my stomach as she spread the cold gel.
"Okay, let's see if everything is alright," she softly smiled as she pressed a few keys on the keyboard allowing us to hear the sound. My hand tightened around Adonis's as I saw our little bean floating around.
She continued to press around before she pressed a few more buttons. I was two months and a few weeks into my pregnancy so I knew by now we were supposed to hear a heartbeat, but so far the room was just filled with nothing.
She pursed her lips together as she angled the transducer. I felt my face become hotter and tears already welled in my eyes as she struggled for a few more seconds, but just before I could let out a sob, a heartbeat filled the room.
"There we go," she smiled as she recorded the sound for us, "little stubborn royal."
