Mara and Daniel were still together.  Mara nor Daniel hadn't gone home yet. But since it was already evening, they decided to spend the night in a hotel room. Although it was Daniel's idea and Mara couldn't reject his request. They both walked towards the reception and when they got there, they paid for a room before trying to walk towards the direction where the room was located.
