Glenn's eyebrows met in confusion. "What do you mean you didn't have to do a lot of things? You created a lot of conflicts, Maddie. Do you even know that?"
"The head that I copied all had it laid out," Maddie said. "To be honest, I didn't even told Baron about this. He just assumed that it was me who started the experiments and the hunting of the Adventurers to be part of a next project. I just wanted him to think that way so he could trust me more."
"You mean the original head of the church planned it?" Glenn asked. "How long has it been since you were hired by Baron?"
"Pretended to be hired," Maddie said. "I just pretended and it worked fine. But my allegiance will always be towards the betterment of the humankind. And to answer your question, it's right after I received my book."
"Your book?" Glenn asked. "You mean from Baron?"
"From Crystal Palace," Maddie narrowed her eyes. "I don't think Baron has ever mentioned anything about the book."
