In God's Omen, players wouldn't necessarily defeat the Generals and other villains with their own hands. There are scenes that an NPC would defeat the Generals to further progress the plot.
One of this was the Warrior Prince, Vladimir Alastair or Vlad the Conqueror. He needed to prove himself worthy of the crown so he killed the Tenth General with his own hands.
At some point in the original plot, the kingdom was heavily damaged and Vlad was still in Caracat, still pretending to become a commoner. When he returned to the capital city, Alfonso, the people rebeled at him. They said that he was nowhere to be found at the moment that the kingdom needed him the most.
This hurt Vlad, making him turn to become a knight and train his magic. He became the fearsome warrior and defeated the Tenth General and proved himself worthy.
