The old man who greeted them when they first came to this world instructed nothing else than the defeat of the Dark Lord who started the plague of darkness around the world.
If he was defeated, then Glenn can get back to Earth along with everyone else. He has no other goal than to return to his world, thus he was going to do everything in his power to stop the Dark Lord once and for all.
Everything in this new world was new, and Glenn does not know how much power the Dark Lord has as well as his trusted Generals, that was why he needed more arms and people on his side.
Albeit he easily defeated Viros, he still shouldn't celebrate just yet. Her awakening was premature and it did not follow the main storyline's order, so her powers weren't at her best.
Glenn still doesn't intend to celebrate his win against her because that battle was merely a test run.
As the Sky Equestrian Knights fell one by one from John's hands, Joaquin couldn't help but at least pray for his fallen comrades.
It wasn't long after that the one-sided massacre was finished. Joaquin immediately rushed towards the area where all the knights fell and checked on them.
"They're not dead," John said to him. "I merely scraped their armor with a high-frequency hit. That managed to knock them unconscious."
"And I enchanted the ground and changed its properties earlier," Gina added. "When they fell, it would feel like they landed on a soft cushion."
"You still thought of them," Joaquin bowed. "I sincerely thank you for all your help."
"That's not something we should be doing right now," Glenn walked past them and went to the trembling female knight. "We should be discussing the root of the problem."
"I didn't do it!" Patricia said. "I was only ordered to."
"Ordered?" Glenn asked. "By whom?"
"The king of Kassos," Patricia said. "After he gained a new advisor, he had been acting weirdly. Come on, Joaquin. Don't you act like you're not suspecting him?"
Joaquin looked down and sighed. "The king's new advisor might look suspicious, but he helped heal the princess. Don't you think you're pinning him on something that he has no control over?"
"Joaquin!" Patricia yelled. "I demand you to see reason. I only attacked you because he was watching me."
"Watching?" Glenn narrowed his eyes. It was then that John vanished and then reappeared, this time, he was holding a large winged eye. He was holding both of the wings in one hand as the eye tried to escape from his grasp. "You mean this ward?"
"You caught the Eye of Kassos that easily?" Patricia muttered in disbelief. "Just how powerful are you Adventurers?"
"Doesn't matter," Glenn brushed the topic off. "Tell me more about the king's new advisor. Do you at least have a name?"
"Defensive mode," the Eye of Kassos spoke.
Glenn sensed the immediate shift in the magic inside it. He took the eye off of John's hand and threw it above them. The eye lit up with a bright orange light, covering its entire surface as it reformed into a humanoid creature.
"The Eye Guardian!" Joaquin said. "The most ancient guardian of Kassos. It was traded to us by the Holy Knights from the ancient times after our king gave them shelter."
"It's real?" Patricia gasped. "But the Eye Guardian only existed in myths."
"This is the Eye Guardian," Joaquin said. "I can confirm it."
The creature finished its humanoid form and the bright popped like a bubble. It had a body of a skinny adult man and with one eye that was positioned vertically. Its hair was long and blonde that reached up to its knee while a pair of dark blue wings secured its flight capabilities.
The Eye Guardian also wore a little armor on its body. It had a small shoulder plate and half of a breastplate that only covered its right chest and was diagonally cut to the left side.
On its waist was an iron belt that was fastened leather straps that were connected to kneepads. The armor had engraving similar to the white hololith that Glenn had, so the Eye Guardian's origin was true. It was from the first warriors sent by the heavens.
Glenn personally had never seen the Eye Guardian in God's Omen. The main storyline does not include it nor does the Wiki of the game, so he had no idea how to deal with it.
"This must come from the new patch," Glenn said. "There are times that they alter the main storyline in a patch and this must be one of them."
"Like the Maiden of the Forest?" Gina asked. "In the first patch, she was a beautiful young maiden who fell in love with a knight and they left the forest together. Her kind knew of this, so they hunted her down and killed her.
"She awoke to become the Fourth General of the Dark Lord, Faris," Gina continued. "In the next patch, they had the knight betray her and killed her. He ruled the forest and the Faris became the Dark General and then took his life. Is that what you mean?"
Glenn nodded. "Exactly. The Eye Guardian must be new lore. We don't know anything about it, so we must not be hasty."
"Right," John smirked. "Then let me test its capabilities."
"Be careful," Glenn said. "That restless eye must be scheming something. Do not carelessly attack."
"Right," John nodded and proceeded with his attack.
Just like what Glenn instructed, he was careful when he gets near the creature. Even when he was at the peak of becoming an Adventurer, the heavy pressure that comes with the Eye Guardian's aura was no joke.
"Let's see what you're made of!" John yelled. "Accelerated Slash!"
Before he could fully launch his attack, the Eye Guardian had beat him to it. John was able to block the Eye Guardian's attack, but there was a huge gap in their brute strength.
"Oh, no," John gasped when he felt himself get overpowered. He was sent flying after their swords met, making him crash on a tree and cough in pain. "What was that?"
"Just as I suspected, it's incredibly powerful," Glenn said. "Gina, can you enchant these trees to attack it?"
Glenn waited for a couple of seconds but heard no response from Gina. When he looked at her, he found her undressing the knights.
"Oi, what are you doing?" Glenn yelled.
"Done," Gina smirked as she assembled seven armors together. "Personification! Arise, my knights, and show the Eye Guardian no mercy!"
