Chereads / Healers Can't Deal Damage / Chapter 47 - Enchanted Horses

Chapter 47 - Enchanted Horses

Alcohol was a substance that was classified as a Curse. It was categorized just under poison and its damage output was only a fraction of the ones above it.

This was because alcohol triggers an unnatural effect on the body. The ones that are classified as a Curse that could cause little to no harm was substances or anything that can cause intoxication but would deal little to no damage.

Prior to any battle or any event, Glenn would always check if John and Gina has their potions with them. Anti-Curse potions were in their storage because it was handed out as event rewards in God's Omen.

"What incredible speed," Joaquin gasped in awe. He was still standing in disbelief after John sliced all of the phantom's tentacles like they were nothing.

"This isn't even my best," John smirked. "Wait till you see when I get pretty serious."

"Your head will blow up if you continue that unhumbled attitude," Gina walked towards them with four giant winged horses behind her. "I call this a situation where I needed help."

"Those behind you," Joaquin said. "Are those our horses?"

"This situation doesn't really call for ownership businesses, does it?" Gina asked. "This is an emergency and we need all the help we can get."

John remembered the phantom that he fought earlier and decided to agree with Gina. "You're right. We need all the help we can get against this phantom."

Meanwhile, Glenn just watched in amusement all throughout their interaction. He knew that Gina only enchanted the horses because they needed the ride.

John alone can handle this situation in a flash, but it seems like these two had a plan of their own.

The second thing that amused Glenn was when he learned how little is the power of humans in this world. Even for Joaquin who was a Magus, a mere phantom should have no chance against him.

Their power was so little and a lot of kingdoms refuses help from the Adventurers. It was what John reported back when they were in Galaron. These kingdoms do not know what kind of danger awaits them.

They were refusing to be helped by the Adventurers because they were ignorant of such people. Only the starting towns were the ones who could tolerate their presence because they had no choice.

But at the moment, acceptance was the least of his worries. He was going to a battle against the darkness of this world, and he was still unable to verify if their current powers were enough to defeat the Dark Lord.

"Horses, kill!" Gina commanded the horses she enchanted. From winged horses, after the enchantment the beasts became armored horses. There was a horn in the middle of their foreheads which served as a spear.

Their wings were covered with a plate of metal as well as their bodies. The joints were protected with moveable metal plates too, securing the safety of the beast.

Even at first glance, you could tell that these horses were powerful beasts. Their sheer size of about a van and their muscles that bulged out of their armor were enough for anyone to think so.

Added to the fact that these horses have their elemental advantage and unique skills that are controlled by Gina, these horses were built for war.

"Lightning Strike!" Gina commanded. The horses gathered around the phantom. There was a spark on their foreheads, the spears glowing as they started to fire their attacks at the phantom.

These lightning strikes hit the phantom, causing an intense heat around the creature's body which caused it to explode.

"Wow," Joaquin whispered in shock and awe. "That was amazing."

"These horses aren't ordinary ones," Gina said. "And unfortunately, once casted, my enchantment cannot be taken back."

Joaquin regained his posture and shook his head. "No. I offer you these mounts as a sign of solemn gratitude."

"Really?" Gina fake gasped. Glenn wanted to deadpan about how fake she sounded, but he let it pass after he saw that Joaquin was convinced. "But also as a sign of thanks, I give you one of the horses. I enchanted four in a hurry."

"You enchanted four, you say," Joaquin pursed his lips. "But each of these mounts already contain high level magic energy. You need to enchant for at least half a day for one."

"It was the adrenaline rush," Gina chuckled. "I panicked, so I ended up using a lot of my energy."

Albeit Joaquin was still not convinced, he let it pass. "You saved me and my men from that phantom, I could have never done it alone. You have my sincere thanks."

"Don't mention it," Glenn smiled. "We're just happy to help."

"But you did not participate in combat," Joaquin said which made Gina snort. "It was them who battled the creature."

"You really–" John abruptly stopped, his eyes widened. "What the hell?"

He fell to the ground and blood started to spill. There was a large cut on his back, which Glenn healed immediately.

"What the hell happened to you?" Glenn asked in shock.

"I was cut by one of its tentacles," John said. "I got too careless."

When John winked, Glenn knew immediately that this was a scheme. He wouldn't simply believe that a phantom could cause this deep cut. John was acting so Joaquin could trust Glenn too.

"Oh, do you need any help?" Joaquin asked. "My healers can heal him. Four should be enough for that wound."

"No need," Glenn chuckled. He placed a hand on the cut and silently cast a healing skill that was discrete so Joaquin couldn't see it.

"What?" Joaquin gasped after seeing the large and deep open wound close. "Impossible. That was such a fatal cut. I couldn't even almost sense the magic you use because of how faint your energy release was."

"This is his role, after all," Gina smirked. "Glenn is the Legendary Healer. He's not someone who you can ignore."

"Such power," Joaquin whispered and suddenly kneeled. "Adventurers, you have displayed such great feat to save us. As the commander of the Sky Equestrian Knights, we humbly thank you. We will not forget this event and shall be in your aid should the time come."

Glenn wanted to laugh because it would look like they needed the knights as their commander thinks, but he knew it was the other way around.

Joaquin needed his help because one of the knights was plotting something behind their commander's back. And that knight was not alone.
