Chereads / The Wandering Magic Swordsman / Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

Chapter 31 - Chapter 31

A day later, small sounds of glass clanging could be heard. An older man was fiddling with small glass bottles in a small shed, with only bookshelves, a table, and a bed in it. The older man was standing at the table while in the bed a young man was lying with closed eyes.

The old man looked like he was busy, and was working away with fast hand movements, while the young man was sleeping with a peaceful face. The old man was of course Rayes, while the young man was Einar.

"HUH!"

Einar suddenly woke up with a set. He was breathing heavily and was still having the livid pictures of his fight with the gorilla, and the man about to kill him. His body felt like shit, he felt like he had been kicked by a horse in the chest 10 times over.

He soon discovered that he was not on the battlefield, but rather in a small shed. It was a shed he recognized of course.

It did not take him long to discover Rayes at the table, fiddling around. He had no idea of how he had ended up here, as he had already become unconscious when he had been rescued.

"Oh, you are awake I see, drink this!" Suddenly Rayes turns around to see that Einar had opened his eyes.

Rayes had a vial in his hand, which had some kind of strange fluid in it. He was approaching Einar with the intention of him drinking this. Einar of course had complete trust in Rayes, so he drank it immediately.

As he started to drink the strange liquid, he had mixed feelings. It was one of the most bitter things he had ever tasted in his life, and he was about to throw it up. What stopped him though, was the amazing feeling it gave his body.

He felt his previous pain go away immediately, while his body also started to surge with a rush of energy. This made him push back the urge to throw up.

As Einar drank to contend of the vial, Rayes turned around, seemingly with no interest in Einar. He started to fiddle with the stuff on the table once again, as he focused on the different plants and vials.

"Uhm, master? How did I get here? How am I still alive?" Some time went by, as Einar didn't know how to ask. He finally got to utter the questions after a few minutes.

"Oh, I saved you, then I carried you here!" Rayes said with an indifferent face.

Einar did not know what to say. He knew that his master was a man of few words, and he was never really serious about anything but alchemy. This was too much though, Einar had no information to go on.

"What about the other fighters? What about the father and the daughter?" Einar had to ask, as he had only started the fight to save the other fighters.

"The fighters got away pretty early on, but I have no idea about the father-daughter pair!" He said without even turning his head to look at Einar.

This made both Einar relieved but also nervous. If Rayes did see the other fighters, he had been there pretty early on, which also meant that the fighters were safe. What made him nervous though, was the father-daughter pair. They were all alone now in this shit hole, he was scared that they would die pretty fast.

"I need to go find these two, I promised to keep them safe," Einar muttered to himself before asking his final question. "How long have I been sleeping?"

If he had been sleeping for too long, he would have no idea of where to look, but if it hadn't been too long, he would charge out to find them.

"Around 24 hours!" Rayes answered, still showing his back to Einar.

"Okay, that is not too long! Master, I have to go! Thank you for saving me!" Einar said, as he ran right out of the door, he had no time to spare.

He was very sad to not have any chance to catch up with his master, as he would have loved to show his progress to Rayes. But this was too important for him too, if he knew he could save someone, he would do all in his power to save them.

"My foolish disciple, don't bring too much trouble on to yourself!" Rayes muttered in a small voice while looking in the direction had run off to with warm and wise eyes. The pride Rayes had for his disciple was higher than anyone could imagine.

The speed with which Einar was moving, was so fast that he could not be seen with the naked eye. He was currently moving towards the position he last saw the father-daughter pair. Einar had no idea how he knew the directions, but he just felt like this was the right way.

On the route he was running, he encountered many corrupted monsters. These monsters were all low-ranking monsters, and he was just swinging his blade to kill. He did not need any skill of any sort to kill these monsters, he just needed pure strength.

What he did not notice though, was that every time he swung the sword, his technique became more refined. It was not by a lot, but bit by bit, and monster for monster, his random swings became more elaborate.

He encountered a few tens of monsters on his way, which was enough for him to start forming a low-ranking technique that he didn't know about himself. This was some talent that was almost never seen, it was truly too bad that no one had the chance to see it.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH"

As he drew closer to where he left the father-daughter pair, he heard a loud pitched scream coming from his side. He thought that the scream sounded like it came from someone he knew. He could not put a finger on the person, but he definitely knew this person, so he then decided to go there first.

What met Einar on the spot of the scream was truly gruesome. It was what could only be described as hell. It was a huge bloody wasteland, with countless dead corrupted monsters and humans.

Many small villages could be seen in ruins, dyed red from blood and human remains. The smell of iron was heavy in the air, and Einar almost had the urge to throw all of his insides up. This was a truly gruesome sight.

In the middle of this huge hell, were three people, three of which were girls, and the last one was a man.

The three girls had not been touched by a drop of blood, while the man was covered in blood. He looked like some kind of monster, and not human anymore.

As Einar got closer, he noticed that the man was not quite normal. His face had many cracks in it, his skin was half peeled while underneath it was pitch black, and his legs had become pitch black. He looked like a creature from hell.

"HAHAHA, so HEH how about you serve your savior? Keke" The man started off with a maniacal laugh. In the end, this laugh turned more sinister as he licked his lips while looking at the girls.

"No, fuck off freak!" One of the ladies said as she was disgusted by the man.

Einar knew this voice, as he had heard it before. He had not heard it a lot, but it was enough for him to recognize who the person was. It was of course Adania, which made Einar wonder if the other girls were Ada and her friend Emily.

To Einars surprise, he was completely right. He knew all of these three girls. He was relieved to see that they were okay. He did not like this guy though, as he seemed to be the one who had made this massacre. He figured as much from his previous words.

"Oh come on Kekeke, I am not so bad! KEKEKE" The man then smile with an even uglier smile as he focused his eyes on Adania's assets.

"What do you want exactly?" Ada stepped in front of Adania as she did not like the stare of this creature.

"Who? me? KEKEKE I just want some fun! KEKEK!" He laughed his nasty laugh, as he started to walk toward the girls. His hands were reaching for Adania's assets.

A centimeter away from touching Adania, something unexpected happened. Einar appeared in front of the man, cutting off his hand. he did not aim to just cut off the hand, he wanted to cut the man in half. The man reacted in time though, and only got his hand cut off.

"AAAAARRRRGH! You son of a BITCH!!! I will kill YOU!" The man started to freak out as he felt the pain of a severed hand. It did not seem that this man had a good temper.

He jumped straight at Einar, as he wanted to kill the man who took his hand as fast as possible.
