The following day Mora took a long run in her wolf form way before anyone was awake. She knew there were two council scouts following her but chose to ignore them. She checked on the borders before taking down a few deer and rabbits for breakfast. She dragged them to the butcher just as he woke up. The large burly man chuckled seeing the red eye she-wolf dragging three deer and carrying six rabbits around her neck like a medal.
"You my darling Rosa are the best blessing this pack has ever had." The man said and she just dropped the animals before trotting back for one last lap. She then showered and changed as her brother woke up before joining him as they walked to the pack house.
"Mora," Marcus called getting her attention as she got ready for the fights. "You aren't planning on doing something crazy are you?" He asked seeing a certain look in her eye.
"No, not yet at least. If it comes down to it though I may have to but I will not risk putting you in danger. I will fill you in more later." She told him before giving him a look.
He understood and nodded seeing four sets of eyes on them that he knew were council scouts. He placed a kiss on the crown of her head before following her to the ring. Mora had three fights to win today if she wanted to compete in the finals she knew the first male she would be going up against would be an interesting one. He was one of the warriors from the second strongest pack, the Taurus Pack.
She got up in the ring and looked at the large redheaded male. He looked at her with hatred but again it never phased her. She had been looked at that way since the day she was born and she could care less. The male had at least a foot on her and was definitely more muscular. She couldn't help it as her eyes shined with excitement for a good fight.
The bell run and he instantly lunged for her. She blocked most of his hits and the few she didn't were rather painful. The pain only served to excite her more as she switched their positions and went on the offensive. These rounds you could shift if you wanted and after she delivered a hard left to his temple he snarled at her and shifted.
Shaw was taken back by the sadistic smirk she wore as the wolf lunged for her. He was shocked she didn't shift but even more so as she grabbed the wolf by his tail and flipped him, slamming him onto his back. Everyone cringed as they knew that was painful but Shaw watched in silent awe as she pounced on the wolf putting him in a chokehold. The stubborn male refused to submit and instead passed out from lack of oxygen.
Mora rolled him off of her and stood up. Her body thrumming with the excitement of the fight. Many pack members were afraid to spar with her and refused. She was usually stuck sparring her brother when he could and rogues in no mans land.
She hopped out of the ring and walked up to her brother her congratulated her. Bo watched on silently angered that her alpha refused to pay her any mind. He hadn't watched a single one of her fights and she was their only warrior left. He knew Shaw noticed this as well since his jaw tightened as he glanced over at the sad excuse for an Alpha.
The next fight was just as exciting for Mora. She took down another Reaper Pack warrior who managed to claw her side before she knocked him out. She still had yet to shift and everyone was curious as to why. Mora knew if she shifted her wolf was harder to control and she would not risk it. Luckily she could feel Shaw's eyes on her so that seemed to settle the bloodlust for now. She knew she would need to go hunting tonight again if she wanted to keep it at bay.
The final fight for Mora was probably the most difficult yet. The male was fast and strong and within the first five minutes he had broken at least two ribs and clawed her right arm. She made sure to also break a few ribs and his nose. They continued to dance around and throw hits at each other. This male however was also throwing words. All of which Mora had heard before so they didn't bother her.
"You should've been put down at birth."
"Nasty, feral, bitch."
"No one wants you here just give up."
"Maybe before I kill you I'll fuck that virgin pussy of yours."
And some even more vulgar and despicable. His words only served to full her sadistic side as she threw a fast right before connecting with a hard left. Everyone heard the sickening crack as she broke his jaw and her eyes shined brightly. She swept his feet out from under him and pinned him. He clawed at her and tried to get out of her hold but she only tightened it.
"You talk to much," she said in a bored emotionless tone.
He struggled until finally submitting. They called it and she released him going to stand up. She didn't make it two steps before claws sliced her back and dug into her side. She roared in pain and spun slamming a hard right into his jaw. The male crumpled and she gripped his throat lifting him up off the ground. He was on the edge of consciousness as she squeezed his throat.
Her wolf demanded death for such a cowardly move. She could hear people shouting and yelling but it all turned to white noise. "You are a coward and a sad excuse for a wolf!" She snarled before lengthening a claw and carving an x onto the side of his face. He screamed in pain as she made sure it was deep enough to scar before throwing him into the post of the ring knocking him out cold.
Instantly her brother, Santi, Alex and their pack doctor Troy were by her side. She knew her lung was collapsed and there was possibly more internal injuries. She allowed them to wrap the cuts and help her out of the ring.
She spotted Shaw who had Bo whispering in his ear. His green eyes kept shifting gold but she knew Bo was keeping him from killing that male. The male had been from the Garrison Pack and they were an old fashion warrior pack. She should've expected it but yet again was giving these pack wolves the benefit of the doubt.
Once inside the infirmary the doctor gave her a shot of adrenaline to cause her wolf to heal the injuries. She snarled in pain as the guys held her down and her skin rippled. Shaw and Bo came in as she fought against the guys as the doctor stitched her wounds. As soon as they entered they could see the three males struggling to hold her down. Both them jumped in and as soon as Shaw's hands touched the bare skin and her shoulder sparks erupted. Her wolf howled and relaxed under his touch causing everyone to look shocked as she stopped fighting and laid there panting.
She looked into his eyes as his held anger, sadness and something else. Hers held confusion yet curiosity, she had never truly had a quiet moment with her constantly fighting her wolf and it was strange to feel so calm. The doctor quickly finished stitching her wounds and they all stepped back. Shaw was the last to step back and she sat up. His face turned red and he looked up at the ceiling.
Mora cocked her head seeing his face become red. "Why are your cheeks red?" She asked and everyone awkwardly cleared their throats which only added to her confusion.
Marcus wrapped a blanket around her bare chest as Alex and Santi left. "Males especially mates get nervous and embarrassed seeing their mates naked and not in an intimate setting for the first time." He explained and she furrowed her brows.
"So you have never seen a female naked before?" She asked Shaw who in turn blushed even harder and Bo coughed to cover a laugh.
"Well, not like this, um, not that I have slept with any females. I, uh have seen them change forms before and be naked but they weren't, uh, so, umm..." He stumbled and trailed off.
Bo chuckled and shook his head. "What he means Mora is he has never seen a woman as beautiful and enticing as you. He has only seen glances of females naked when changing forms and they did not have as large breasts as you."
Even Bo's cheeks tinted slightly as Marcus looked like he would rather be anywhere else. Mora thought about it and nodded her head. "Would you like to look at them so you can get used to them?" She asked unsure of where to go from here.
All three males turned bright red and Shaw felt like he would burst into flames any second. "N-No that's not necessary, we, umm, can work up to that later." He managed to say quickly as she went to unwrap the blanket covering her.
She looked at all three males confused and nodded. Luckily they were saved with the doctor coming in and discharging her. The stitches would dissolve withing the next few hours and she would heal completely by the morning. She was frustrated she couldn't go hunting tonight and instead would need to settle for doing so in the morning.
One of the nurses brought her a t-shirt and shorts before she left with her brother. Everyone was silent when she entered the dinning hall. It was a tense atmosphere and her and her wolf both bristled seeing Alpha Garrison sitting beside Liam.
"Ah Mora please come here." Liam said seeing her and now both her and her wolf were pissed.
Marcus walked with her as they stood in front of his table. She didn't say a word knowing she would snap. "Since you maimed Alpha Garrisons head warrior as a traitor he would like some compensation for his warriors suffering. We came to a deal where you will go to his pack and be a breeder after the tournament."
She snarled as did her brother. "I will do no such thing. I was well within my rights to maim him for attacking me after the fight was finished. He is a coward and a pathetic excuse for a wolf. I was well within my right to kill him and this deal," she spat, "is illegal especially as I am already accepted into another pack. You will not be my alpha past this tournament and you never were my alpha. You are a weak male and your father would be rolling in his grave at what you have done to his pack. If you continue with this power trip of yours I will finish what you started seven years ago."
His eyes widened before anger crossed his features. He went to no doubt spout some more bullshit but was stopped by a new voice. "I would think carefully about your next words Alpha."
Everyone looked towards the entrance as the five council elders and their guards walked in. The head councilman spoke and everyone bowed in respect. Mora only slightly dipped her head but maintained eye contact. The head councilman cocked an eyebrow at the feral she-wolf before them. "Mora Thorne, it has been a while has it not." He said and everyone looked shocked the head councilman knew her.
"It has grandfather," she replied and now everyone gasped.
He looked to her brother who looked at the man with hatred. "Marcus, still resentful I see," he acknowledged and Marcus scoffed.
"You tried to kill my baby sister several times over the years. I think I will always hate your guts old man." Several people growled at his disrespect and Mora snarled flashing her canines daring someone to try something.
"Well, can someone show us our living quarters for the next 24 hours as we finish our investigations? Mora, we will be talking soon." He said and she just stared at him blankly.
One of the warriors showed them out and no one spoke knowing the feral she-wolf was the granddaughter of the council leader. Her wolf was now bristling and she had to go for a run before she really did kill someone. With that she left the dinning hall and went straight into the woods into no mans land.
